I used to be undecided about global warming. Over the past several months I have decided to get as many facts as I can. I have come to the conclusion that the earth has a cooling and warming cycle and in the past 50 years we have gone outside of what is normal. Most scientist think it has to do with green house gases as there is a strong correlation to Co2 levels and rising temperatures. I know opinions are all over the place and only ask that you read what I have below and check out the articles. This is a post I created to put up in various places. I am a big believer in the American way of doing things. Give people credible information let them draw their own conclusions and let them make the changes they think they should do; not imposing a change on someone.
50% of media coverage sheds doubt on the reality of global warming; while less than 1% of scientific studies shed doubt on the reality of global warming. The planet is getting warmer, warmer than it has been in 650,000 years. That time line was formed by ice core drilling and scientific analysis of the gases in the ice.

One inhabited island has already been lost to rising see levels.

Global warming pulls more moisture out of soil; creating more drought and turning agricultural land to desert.

It is the ice sitting on the land that is the big concern. When it melts it adds water to the ocean. Ice that is in the water is already displacing the water. Basically its already in the water only the tip of the iceberg will affect the sea level. Scientist thought this land based ice would be safe, but a piece the size of Manhattan broke free last year. It is currently stuck in the seasonal freeze, but watch for it in the news this summer. This wasn't the first time in the past decade this size piece of ice has broken free and moved out into warmer waters.

Here is another article about a bigger piece of ice that the writers of the previous article must not have been aware of as they state the one in there article was the biggest in decades.

Global warming will effect everyone. Some predictable ways and some not so predictable. Insect populations will change, migratory birds will come and go at different times. How will all this play out, what will happen, will it be a good thing or bad. That all remains to be seen; I've read some bad things. The environment has always changed it has been a slow change and most things have been able to change with it. Things are changing much faster; what permanent changes will that create?

There was an ozone crisis; but it was taken seriously and we changed the chemicals in the aerosol products and fixed the problem. There was no damage to the economy and life has gone on with out any changes. If we demanded more gas efficient cars and alternatives to fossil fuels we could expect the same; fix the problem and life would go on pretty much unchanged.
Concerned? Take Action; I try to reduce my consumption of fossil fuels, I made this posts and post it were I think it is appropriate and I keep my mind open to other facts to find out the truth.
