That's really kind of sad. I read that earlier and I was thinking, who paid the bills that he still had power on, didn't the mail build up?

I read something similar to that last year. The man's retirement checks were direct deposit and his rent was direct debit and was automatically paid every month and his utilities were included in the rent. Everyone just assumed he was traveling and never checked on him to see if he was there.

I was wondering about the electric bill too. Last year I remodeled a house that a man had died in. He wasn't found until two weeks after he died. Ya gotta wonder how these guys have absolutely no family or friends that wonder why they haven't heard from this guy.

Well I feel good knowing that it won't happen to me.
Last fall I was cutting some rock and a Deputy Sheriff pulled up in the yard, I live in a pretty isolated area. After the usual hello's I ask what he wanted. It seems my daughter (who's a nurse in the ER) had tried to call me all day and since I didn't answer the phone she called my other daughter (who is a deputy sheriff) and they sent a car out to check on me.
It really a great feeling to know you are loved.

I dont know... I had the morbid thought just yesterday that since I dont live in a great neighborhood and dont really have any DAILY friends or family that if something were to happen to me and my family on the weekend we might not be discovered til Monday when we didnt show for work. My coworkers are probably the only ones who would notice me missing for a few days since unfortunately I dont talk daily to family. I was even thinking of making it a habit to call my mom every night and wish her good night. Now after reading these stories I think I will!!!!

Here's a thought, run around out front naked for 15 minutes every day. The first time you don't do this, the whole neighborhood will miss you. ;D
