Got home from work yesterday to find a large Standard Poodle in the front yard. I think he wanted to play with my cat but of course the cat didn't want to play.
I decided to put a leash on him and walk around the block to find where he lived... I'd seen him in the neighborhood before but wasn't sure who he belonged to. So as I'm walking the dog I see my neighbor Rosa getting out of her car and I stopped to ask if she knew who he belonged to... she didn't but went inside to get her friend Karen to find out if she knew....
Karen stepped outside for a look and she immediately knew who the dog belonged to so we returned him to his home...
Here comes the Karma part... I noticed that Rosa was wearing beautiful bezelled cab set in Sterling Silver.. I think it was red Jasper with streaks of Hematite.. anyway, I told them that I was doing some similar stuff... Karen's eyes lit up and she said "I used to do Cabochons back in college."
I said: "What? You're kidding... do have any old equipment laying around that you might want to sell?"
She says: No... but come inside, I have something for you"
Well, we get inside, go into the garage and she starts digging through an old paper bag and pulling out slabs of rock!! Tiger eye, Picture Jasper, and even a small Malachite slab...
[glow=red,2,300]SCORE![/glow]
How's that for instant Karma?? ;D
I'll try to get some pictures of the slabs tonight....

lol... good one S.
She even had some old silversmithing tools.... I told her that I would love to buy the set but it would have to wait until after my vacation...
I still can't get over the coincidence and timing of the events... funny how things work sometimes...

Was it really karma or was it just the Blarney Stone charm taking effect?
Nice slabs.

You can take a girl out of rockhounding, but you can't take the rockhound out of a girl! Very nice. And just another example of the fine folks who play with rocks.

Dan - Here is a cab you have to cut: I think it is the oasis over lake Travis in Austin.

Wow.. You're right! Looks very similar to the view of the lake from the Oasis. Good eye Daniel. ....great Margaritas at the Oasis!
