I saw a lot of pics on the net of the recent huge lake-effect snows in upstate New York, but this one emailed to me by a friend (who had it sent to her from another friend...) is the best I've seen by far. It is NY state route 11, in Oswego county. Ron would love this, he'd be snowmobiling well into summer! ;D ***NOTE: SEE KD'S POST BELOW - THESE PIX ARE FROM LABRADOR, CANADA, NOT UPSTATE NEW YORK.***

Looks like one of those surreal car commercials. "This car can go anywhere!"

KD, Thanks for that. That would explain why those pics seem so much more dramatic than all the other internet pics from upstate New York. I sent the snopes link to the person who sent me the pics. -Don

With snow like that, do you think it ever really goes away?

I've driven on I-50 through the Sierra Nevada Mountains by South Lake Tahoe in the winter, and seen cottages with nothing but a chimney sticking out of the snow. That's a little bit more than I really want! Ron
