Lots of our members are in really bad areas with the blizzard, severe thunderstorms and tornadoes. Thought it might be good to have a check in post so we don't need to hunt all over.
Let us know you're ok!!

Hey Cher, I WANT to be in the storm path, does that count? ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) Only got around 3-4 inches so far here. Hard to tell with the high winds. Ron

Haha Warren, that sounds like such bad punishment. Ron, I'm hoping it moves over to you really fast and gives you lots of snow. Stefan, it's on it's way after a pitstop over Ron.

The southern part of the storm front dropped deadly tornadoes in AL and has finally made it this far east. We are getting heavy rain with some flooding so far which is making a mess in Charlotte during rush hour. They say in the next few hours we will get the high winds with a possibility of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes. Lori

It skipped me this time, yesterday was almost 70, today was 40's with high winds. So got some slabs cut yesterday, and a little grinding done today, garage door needs to be up for the slabbing so it worked out well.

The storm system has turned deadly, at least 20 deaths reported as a result of the tornadoes yesterday. Eight high-school students in Alabama lost their lives. What a tragedy..
I Hope everyone is safe.

It did get a little windy and the rain beat down for a while. One T-storm passed through in the middle of the night. Now the sun is shining. We're just left with mud and standing water in some places. I'm glad it didn't last long for us. I feel bad about all the people that were hurt or lost their lives though. Severe storms are nothing to take lightly.

The rain has passed here (for now) but we did have a 4.2 earthquake last night.
And I'll take that over a tornado or hurricane any day, thanks.

the wind raged all night and the sleet and freezing rain came down, i was sure we would lose power and/or the roof would cave in and/or i'd look out at daybreak and see trees down....needless to say, i didn't get a lot of sleep.
there are lots (and i mean LOTS) of branches down but no trees. the roof is still on and we never lost power. about the worst that happened was the town plow nailed a bag of my recyclables and scattered it all down the road...lots of fun picking that up in the freezing rain.
now it's sort of just rain....not out of the woods yet, but at least the wind has gone down.
no skunks yet, but i did see a woodchuck poke his head out of his burrow. roll on spring!!

I finally got all of my paths shoveled, was a bit tough getting out the door this morning though. Snow was piled up in a 2 foot drift against it, fortunately it wasn't to heavy. I've gone from having 4 inches of snow in my front yard to about 18 inches, now it actually looks like winter outside. Didn't get as much as they said we would but it's still snowing so I suppose we'll get a couple of inches more. Didn't lose any power but some people lost their phone service. Good to go though, we desperately need the moisture but we'd need 18 feet of snow to replace how low the lakes are.

We got lots of stinging hail and gail force winds and how it,s just dumping lots of snow on us.
Walked to school with the kids and had to come back cuz school was closed (haven't seen that since 2000). Someone lost their temporary garage because of the wind (went flying across the street & busted up the poles & ripped the tarp)
Nasty weather and we were doing so good, it was almost melting.... - I hate winter, sorry Ron

Wow, we haven't had much here in California. I hope everyone stays safe and Cher I hope you dig your way out, then get more snow to replinish your lakes.
Rallyrocks, you know we had a smaller earthquake up North of here this morning in Healdsburg. Only 3.0, but I thought it was interesting after that 4.2. I didn't feel either.
