Kawasaki builds a good bike. If you like it then go for it, just be sure that it's what you want because if you get it, wishing that you had bought something else (no matter what the price is) you'll never be happy. The Vulcan is one of the best Japanese bikes out there, and the Kawasaki Nomad is a step up from those.

You have to look at resale value also. Is that 900cc gonna get the money back in 3 years or so, if you want to sell it?

Thats an old "one lunger" I would go with the belt, I rode an old Honda, years ago, before I got smart that was a shaft drive, they are slower and I thought there was some lag in the acceleration dept. If you ever blow a shaft it will be alot more $ to fix it than a belt drive. Come on man, spring for a Harley. Here they have a good deal on a 1200 sportster, $129 a month for 3 years. Then you pay it off. I think you'll look cooler on a Harley than a kawi...

"Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?"
"Whats that?"
"A fantastic bike," I said. "The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."
"That sounds about right for this gig," he said.
"It is," I assured him. "The f***er's not much for turning, but it's pure hell on the straightaway. It'll outrun the F-111 until takeoff."
"Takeoff?" he said. "Can we handle that much torque?"
"Absolutely," I said. "I'll call New York for some cash."

Hmmmm, 2,000 cubes developing only 200 horses? Should put out at least 1 hp per c.i., sounds like they didn't use a Chevy engine. ;D

you kind of need to take Hunter Thompson's technical descriptions with a grain of salt....

Dead serious, just bought an '07 Screamin Eagle Road King this afternoon. I don't know a darn thing about the mechanical stuff, and the pipes are wimpy (that'll be $2000 more I bet), but the salesman said it would make my butt look smaller, riding the Screamin Eagle-----. So I bought it------

Slydog- seriously? You bought the Screaming Eagle? That's cool! They all come with wimpy pipes now, that's the first thing to go after the break-in period. It cost me around $400 to switch to the Screaming Eagle muffles and air filter on the Wide Glide.

Might cost as much as the pool, but you'd be looking cooler riding around on the Harley than riding on a inner tube...

Too funny, ED!!!! Picked the bike up today, dam cold ride to and from. You have to wait for the 1000 mile mark to change any thing out, then do what Randy said. And a new backrest, will probably have to buy a whole seat. And I don't like the little foot pegs for long rides--that's one more way Harley 'gets' you----. But it's real pretty--got the black, with green/gray/purple flames. Insurance doubled----. I swear to god I'm not leaving a penny to the kids!!!!!!

Why did this thread go up towards the top when the last entry was March 29th? It's above threads that were posted on yesterday.
