As some of you know, I make skin care products. I have recently made a wonderful whipped butter, it's made of mango butter and emu oil and little bit of kokum butter then just a hint of lavender essential oil. It won't be a scented product other than the lavender since it's a healing product.
It looks like whipped marshmallow cream, then when you apply it to the skin, it melts on contact, doesn't have a greasy feeling and leaves your skin soft afterwards. It's a moisturizing item and even good for the face..........
The help I need.......I need a name for this stuff. My products are normally kept simple. I don't name things that often. I make an emu body lotion that is called silk stockings. My goat milk lotion is called just that. But this butter needs a name.

I'm liking the names. I finally figured out what I was trying to say it reminds me of.....a mousse! A really white mousse or a marangue (sp?) KD - I do have a website, I need to change it to a .com, but it's still running so far. www.northstarcreations.org I've had it for years and have known for the last 2 to change it to .com, just haven't done it. .orgs are for non profit.......when I signed up for it, was told it was fine....I've since learned all that stuff. It's not been updated much, some yes, but not a lot. I own a retail uniform store, but have a lot of my products in there and have been selling the skin care products for years now, so have lots of regulars. I will start doing farmer's markets this Friday and I sell a lot of my stuff there. KD - pm your address and I'll send you some to try out, you can give me honest input on if you like it.

It sounds wonderful, I didn't know you made skin products. Kim's sister makes soaps and creams too, I think that's very interesting. Lavender Mousse is kind of cool but people would be trying to use it in their hair then. Here's a few suggestions. Lavender Essence Softly Lavender Lavender Silk Lavender Butter Silk or Lavender Silky Butter or Silky Lavender Butter

Sounds really nice chinook - it's hard to find products that you feel good about putting on your skin sometimes. Especially when your skin seems to take offense at some of the generic "fragrances" used in most products.... How about Mallow Mousse (which would actually sound a little like MELLOW Mousse when you say it) to play on the texture and the intent of the product.... ;D Keep us posted on your progress! I'm going to check out your site now!

Here's my idea......
"Mango & Lavendar Healing Mélange"
Neat website, chinook203. I am very interested in your soaps! I have always been interested in trying to make my own, but have not yet given it a try. I have never heard of emu oil. Could you explain/describe what it is and what it does? Thanks........

I like the lavender silk too, I need to get labels done for the jars today, so really looking over everything .
Emu really absorbs deep into the skin, so whatever is put with it, goes deep also. It doesn't clog pores, which is a plus! Emu really started becoming better known for it's use in a product called Super Blue, a cream designed to help ease arthritis. The emu oil itself seemed to help reduce swolling, then it got paired up with some other ingredietns and it really works on some people. I've been making a similar product for a long time after I started researching emu oil. Emu oil WILL make your nails grow faster. Especially in older people. I have a lot of customers that said they have to trim their nails every other day since using emu oil products (most use the pain cream I make for arthritis in hands). What I truly have seen on emu oil, it does help with dryness for most people, the pain cream does help with some, it does cause nails to grow fast, it reduces scarring on cuts and it will heal faster using the pain cream.
This is from my website on emu oil: Emu is known to help reduce inflammation and reduce joint pain in some people. It contains high levels of linoleic acid which is known to help relieve arthritic pain. It also contains essential fatty acids which are vital to promote healthy skin and cell reproduction. Emu has been known to work well on burns, rosacea, psoriasis, eczema, severe dry skin and numerous other skin problems. Emu is also non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores). Emu is also known to help fight acne, by itself or used with MSM and/or lavendar and tea tree oils.

I like the lavender silk idea, too. How about Lush Lavender or Lush Lavender Fields? I have to go check out the website.

Chinook203......thanks for the info! I'm very interested in the emu oil for arthritic pain. Which product do you recommend for my arthritic hip? I had a doctor's appt. this morning in fact and received a steroid shot in my hip for the pain. It sounds like it's good for many things, like acne, which my daughters could use (so could I...I still have acne problems and I'm in my 40's!). My youngest daughter and step-daughter seem to suffer from extra dry skin in the winter, too. I guess if I just went over to your website I could figure it out, but I'd rather get it right from the producer's mouth! Thanks again..............

The emu/msm cream would be the best bed for arthritis. But.....it mostly works where the joint is close to the skin, like fingers, wrists, knees, elbows. The hip and back are sometimes harder for the cream to really penetrate. I've had several people have good luck with it on their lower backs. The hip bone where the pain is actually coming from is harder to get to. The steroid shots normally work, they sometimes are hell getting, but I've heard they do work well.
Acne - I'm out of the soap I used to make for acne, it kicked butt for teen acne. The emu/msm cream either really helps or it does nothing, I've never had a comment in between. Teens it's normally because of oily skin, so the emu doesn't seem to help. If they have dry skin, it seems to help some. Adult acne, normally cleaning with agood soap, then follow up with the lavender silk, the emu/msm cream or just a straight emu could help you out. If you have any good skin moisturizers, non scented, try that on your face. A product I haven't tried to make anything like is that Proactiv, that stuff is very good.

My eldest daughter did use Proactiv and it worked great for her face, but it didn't do a thing for me (I had ordered it for me, but then she got it and it worked great). I tend not to use moisturizer on my face because it is so oily, but I know I probably should...I just need to find the right kind that doesn't cause me to break out. Thanks for the info.
