Well, after years of being patient, and so very kind, my neighbor called this morning to tell me he was fed up with the barking of my bassett hound. We was polite but firm. I thanked him politely for letting me know. After a few minutes I called him back, and told him that my family and I had discussed it, and that we would take care of it. We would take him to the Humane Society to put him to sleep. He didn't want us to do that, but there was really no alternative being that he's old and beginning to get sick. I told him that good neighbors sometimes have to make sacrifices, and this was one of them. I further told him to not expect the same with the Daschund or Chihuahua under any circumstances. He felt extremely bad, but I understand how the barking finally got to him and his elderly mom. It gets to us too. We took him in just a little while ago, and all of us feel sad, but my DDs in particular feel terribly sad. It was for the best.

Awww man I am so sorry. You are definitely a top notch neighbor and though it's hard to lose a pet, at the same time I can understand the significance having to listen to someone else's dog.
