Every since I was a little kid, I've played a game called What I will do when I win the lottery ( It was the Publisher's House Sweepstakes when I was a kid, we didn't have lottery in Texas then) I've had dreamed of many many things playing this game. LOL Now I want ya'll to play along. In my fantasy, I've just won $200 million dollars. I've done all the adult responsible things I'm supposed to do and now its time to have fun. I am buying land ( where? how much?) and I'm building Camp Rock-a-way. It will have one of my homes and a large lodge that will fit 100 people. It will have a huge professional kitchen, indoor plumbing, ac/heat, fireplace ( come on help me out here!) There will also be RV sites with hook up and tent areas for those that like to rough it. There will be a very large building set aside that will have ( put the equipment in folks, money is no object)! There will be a full staff of rock guides ( fully trained paramedics with search and rescue backgrounds), all the 4 wheelers, SUV's, pickup trucks ( ya'll jump in here we gotta have it perfect!) The fun part is that twice a year, Camp Rock-a-way will be opened exclusively to the RTH board members. I will charter a private jet and pick everyone up, all expenses paid for 7 days. All food etc furnished. All you gotta do is come. So, where will this be? What equipment will we need, right down to the 5 gallon buckets, what kind of vehicles , saws, you get the idea. Thought this might be fun

Some jeeps to go exploring in.
The main lobby should have a library with coffee and goodies also some lapidary equipment. Then we can have coffee and donuts together with conversation and stone cutting, grinding and polishing.
location is the tough one. I like the idea of Brazil or maybe Mexico. Mexico seems to have some very beautiful banded agate in abundance and variety.

Funny xenas, that was one of the things that kept me going on third shift so many years ago. Driving around with nothing to do until someone was in trouble.
In my house the south walls were glass and I looked out upon rolling hills, wheat fields and grazing cattle all mine. There was a fire pit in the middle of the great room that blazed dusk to dawn. Three times a year old time western theme parties would be held. I will stop there for fear of being locked up.

Oh, Xena, it's nice from you to be so generous with us. About the equipment in the large building, please keep in mind for me a big flat rotating lap - let's say to be modest 1 m diameter- and a compatible vibe lap, with all the grits, diamond pasts, magnetic diamond disks possibly needed. Oh, and a good 4 wheel drive pick-up equipped with a little crane. Some caterpillar type machines won't hurt, maybe for road construction in unaccessible areas. Location? Right near the petrified forest! What petrified forest? Better a new one, in which large scale collecting is allowed. You could also organize from time to time a cruise (for RTH members, of course ) with a large ship, in order to reach great geological areas around the world. With all these dreams, the 200 million don't seem as big as in the beginning, don't they? So in order to save some money, don't worry about buckets, I'll bring some. Adrian

Oh good grief Stefan .... LOL you would have to bring up dynamite.
We need horses to get to those not so easy places to climb and pack mules too. Tons of flat rate boxes with special carrier pick up daily to ship the goodies we find home.
And a helicopter with sprayers to fly over and wet the rocks to wash the dirt off so we can see the wonderful bands and colors in them.
As long as this is a fantasy, let's make it a good one. We'll build at a new place called Mount Rocksofallkinds with every kind of rock we want.

Oh yeah, you've got that already. I realy drift off into space when I'm day dreaming. Forget the jeeps, I would like horses. They can go many more places. Ok, I'm ready now.

Sorry, I forgot about the saw. It would be nice a "monster" with a 3 m blade posted some weeks ago here (sorry, don't remember who posted), but for all day purpose a 30 inch diameter saw would be great. I let the other specifications in the care of the specialists.
You could also build a mega - tumbler and when you'll invite all the RTH members, everyone should bring a rock. We'll put ALL the rocks in that monster tumbler and when ready, everyone will pick one rock, excepting the one he/she brought it. Wouldn't it be nice?

Location: Has to have good rocks, trees, a nice lake and river, maybe some mountains or foothills or a beautiful desert. Make it a log cabin, with the floor and multiple mantels made of rocks. www.showcaseloghome.com/2007/default.aspOr, make it a 'green' stone home: www.dreamgreenhomes.com/index.htmAnd, since you're rich, go 'green' evironmentally, and get all those 'save the environment/make your own power' thingies that your average homeowner can't afford. Make the patio, swimming pool and hot tub out of rocks, too, while you're at it! And don't forget the wireless internet.... Hire some hunky strong young dudes to carry all the rock sacks around. They could also double as massage therapists after a hard day of bending over looking for rocks! How fun!

As long as we are fantasizing; girls in , oops wrong fantasy lol. I think we would need a roof top pool and some telescopes so we could enjoy the stars and image what great rocks may be on some of those distant planets. A couple of hot tubs would be nice after a day of digging and looking. I think some C4 would go nice with the dynamite (I like blowing stuff up too). A large orchard and garden; would be nice to be on the roof and reach over and pick a mango. A swim up bar in the pool would be a lot of fun. How about an out door movie screen; wouldn't want to miss spiderman3 lol. Since we are all set with the rock equipment how about some kilns for pmc and doing metal castings. We may also find some gold and silver and want to smelt it. Some dog friendly features would make it easier bring the four legged rockhounds (pun intended). I am thinking in the Amazon; and being environmentally friend; of course.

Well, SpiritStone, C4 and environmental frienship don't match each other, don't they? But I also vote for some C4. Adrian

Horses (to ride to the rougher areas) - mentioned already - good thinking Cher! Lake/rivers (i have to go fishing and diving) mountain view somewhere in there. If someone mentioned it, I didn't see it, I saw the C4, but.....a good backhoe! Can I have a Lamborghini? My fantasy of winning the lottery isn't far off from some of this, after paying off family's and my debts, a Lamborghini was always in there.....and maybe a Dodge Viper.......
