I was hiking up in a semi-remote area not too far from my place recently and while I was wandering around on an old trail system I came across this vintage looking diet pepsi bottle lying half burried in the ground. The most amazing part is how well the painted label has weathered the elements, being up on a south facing hillside all this time & all... I didn't take it with me because I had a full pack already but I marked the location with my GPS and took a photo with my cell phone cam. I have been trying to identify it ever since but to no avail so far. I thought posting it here might help on the off chance that someone knows how to track this sort of thing down. It probably wouldn't be worth that much but it would still neat to find out how old it is & how long it's been sitting there. The picture quality isn't the greatest either. The part above the logo that's whited out is the volume "750ml" so it was definately sold in Canada but other than that I don't know anything else about it.

Interesting. When did we go metric... 1976 I think, and then quite gradually. So the bottle must be younger than that. But it must be close to the 1976 date, since those big bottles of pop (er, soda, for Americans ;D) all went plastic many years back, and yours is obviously made of glass. (750 mL is equivalent to about 26 ounces). -Don

Hmmm,. that's a neat timeline Stefan, sorta like a walk down Nostalgia Boulevard. Funny thing is I have always preferred good ol' Coca Cola, even though I rarely drink it.
I will be up in those hills again this weekend so maybe I will go back and pick it up.

That is a pretty neat find. Of course, my dad would roll over in his grave if I ever had a Pepsi bottle in my house. He worked for the Real Thing, Coca-Cola for 45+ years. I found a bottle this weekend hiking as well. A friend of mine and myself, went up and explored an old mining area. It was the first time I had ever been in this particular area...but it sure paid off. here's the bottle i found. Healy and bigelows kuckapoos Indian Cough Cure Steve
