I guess somebody let the dawgs out! Edog is leaving, and I'm heading out after Memorial Day--going to SD and WY rockhunting. Will spend more time in WY as one of my sons lives there, he is way into the rocks/exploring so it works out fine. Any guesses on what I will end up spending on gas?!!! I'm betting on over $1000. We have a Silverado z-71. Put on some new tires too, ones that are supposed to be more immune to the desert terrain, the mountain trails. I guess we'll see------. I can tell you from previous experience that it totally sucks to have two flat tires out in the middle of east jesus Red Desert--and the cell phone won't work. And when you do manage to get to town, the locals rip you off big time. Soooooo---is Snowdog going anywhere for 10 days?!

Have fun, I'm heading out to southern Minnesota and Iowa at the end of the month too. Things will be quiet around here.

Oh how I love Wyoming. I spent a really memorable July 4 in Gillette, years and years ago. I've never forgotten how red the earth is...when it slumps it's like a wound. Just beautiful. Kick some dust around for me!

I just got back from my west trip. I don't know what the total in gas was. We paid mostly around $3.39/gallon. S10 blazer.......that poor thing did not get good mileage in the mountains, little ole V6 just didn't like dragging all the rocks around. I think my 3/4 ton Chevy would've beat the mileage once the weight was added with the mountains.
