At the local Memorial day parade called Felton Remembers, which is a small parade that whoever wants to enter can. The parade folks throw candy to the kids. I think my kids get as much candy at the parade as they do at Halloween! Here is our local version of the KKK. LOL Actually, it is a Banana Slug, which is the mascot for the local university. I have other thoughts about this thing, but it is better left unsaid LOL.

Gosh, it's beautiful where you live. I gotta say though that you folks need a more macho mascot for your school....lol

Hey Mitch, if you knew what Santa Cruz is like, you'd understand the banana slug as a mascot! They have a bumper sticker that reads,"KEEP SANTA CRUZ WEIRD", and it seems to be working!

Ya know, looking at those two pics makes me wanna go to East Texas this summer. I haven't seen trees like that in a long time. I don't know that there's alot of rocks in East Texas though. I think I've read where Dan finds pet rocks down there.
The west coast is lucky to have volcanic terrain AND beautiful scenery.

Ahhh yes, I will never forget my one whole week at Yosemite. Never. You know, I haven't traveled much, and I know there are spots on the planet that might rival the majesty and sheer beauty of Yosemite, but I gotta say that IMHO, there can't be anything to compare with this unique and awesome landscape. We camped a week down in the Merced River canyon. We hiked all the falls there, went up to Glacier Point. Scaled the sheer face of El Capitan! (not really ) I want to take my kids there one day. If I ever go back to california, it will be to Yosemite. Thanks for posting those pics Stoner.
