I love watches, but not any watches and no girly fancy watches for me. I have about 20 of them and they're mostly bought in pairs - for example: I have two Mickey Mouse watches but not the same ones, two Harry Potter, two Pooh watches, two swatches, two "machine watches" - of which I wear & had big strong guys tell me it,s a man's watch - hey I like 'em & I wear 'em! etc. Here are most of them - some are somewhere else - the one of the far right makes bird sounds The first two are Machine watches, they're massive, heavy & the tops open to protect the face The far left HP watch has a golden snitch that lights up and the Pooh watch on the left sings the pooh song So the point of this thread is to show you this site - I'm getting one of these - read the info on them, it's pretty cool! (I didn,t get the one I REALLY wanted because I can't justify spending close to $300 for a watch even to myself. I wanted the 86 1050 but I chose instead the 86 0921 (which has a stainless background - but it shows up white here). I'm looking forward to getting this one - the most I ever spent on a watch was $75US for the black digital/analog Mickey watch when we were at Disney - most of the others are about $20-$40 - one HP watch and the Superman watch (too bad it wasn't a Dean Cain watch) even came from Avon - I really needed this watch (unfortunately this one won't have a companion from the same series) www.timequestwatches.com/id17.html

Hey Tweetie - The one on the right's a couple of minutes slow. ;D ;D
I wonder who would have the bigger collection . . . the Swatch collector or the Pez collector?

Just checked out the Abacii (or is it Abacuses ?) and I'm wonderin' how a four and a half minute soft boiled egg would come out.

Hey Tweety, that is a pretty neat watch. I have a drawer full of watches, because I'm very hard on them. If I buy a gold tone watch, my sweat eats them for breakfast. My MS makes it hard at times to wear a wrist watch, but I have a pretty good track record of crunching pocket watches too. Now I'm back to wearing a plain old Timex. It takes a licking, and keeps on ticking, so far anyway. I've been thinking a lot here lately about Peter Fonda in Easy Rider, when he took his watch off and threw it on the ground before they hit the road. I'm thinking maybe he had the right idea. There are some really neat old pocket watches floating around out there. Keep your eyes open. Ron
