Found out Friday that my 19 year old daughter is with child. She is due after Thanksgiving. It's only been a year since she moved out on her own. We've had several discussions on this board about dealing with our kids moving out on their own and dealing with the feelings that come with it. I have finally accepted the fact that she's an adult and taking care of herself fine. Now she's given me a whole new set of worries! I'm actually excited about becoming a Grandma and having a baby around again.........I'm just worried about her and her boyfriend making it...in their relationship, financially, etc. She had started college but her full time job and going to school became too much for her, so she opted out of school. She was planning on returning to a local technical college and then taking some on-line courses because she still wants to get a degree. She said she'll still be able to do the on-line courses this Fall.
It was kind of cute.......Earthdog says to me, since I'm her step-father, will that make me a Grandpa? I said, yes! You'll be a step-grandpa! I had 3 sets of grandparents because of steps!

I still think they should have used condoms! Yes the kid will have a little Harley! Gotta raise 'em right! Don't tell Takila but I'm kinda looking forward to a small kid around, sometimes also... Hmmm, how can one secure a car seat to the back of a Harley?

Isn't that why they invented sidecars?

Congrats. Too bad it wasn't planned but grands are great!! I hope they live close to you, it's very sad when you don't get to spend lots of time with them.

Hermy, sidecars are for old people and you can't look cool with a sidecar... Cher, sometimes I think she lives too close... Another few years and they will have to come to Montana to see us.. ;D

Erb, thats pretty cool. I don't know if I want drool leaking out on my saddle bags though, might mess up the custon paint. I bet I could bungie cord the car seat to my tour pack though, the baby would be able to have the wind in it's hair, like me...

Earthdog - gotta say - you put a sidecar on your baby - with your grand-baby in it - I don't think cool is going to be a problem! You know women fall all over themselves for a guy with a baby - much less a hardcore Harley dude with a baby! (Takila - you might want to keep that in mind!) Seriously - can't you see yourself - side car with your grand-baby wearing one of these: us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/helmetsrus_1950_2041672

Yep, women fall all over guys with babies and puppies! The baby in the saddlebag is too cute! I don't care what he says or thinks of my daughter being a little too close. Wait until his daughter grows up and moves out.........he'll think different! Here's the baby's first outfit! www.tinytreasuresbaby.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=217

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease don't call the little one "Hawg" or "Biker" or "Bigassedride". Give it a normal name....like...Harley...or David(son) or something...you know...reasonable.

The names that they are leaning towards is Riley or Skylar. Not too bad, I guess.
