There are alot of great folks on this board. Some I have come to love like family. But with all the homophobic, gay hate threads going on lately, I think its time for me to leave. I can't be part of a group that allows such bigotry and hatred to go unchallenged except by a few.
Wolf Pack, I love you dearly and hope to keep in touch via email.
Haters, I hope someday you will realize that there are real live people on the other end of your screens and your words hurt.

OK found the offending post (I think) hmmm- Lesa- you have every right to be hurt and pissed- BUT COME ON- I know you have thicker skin than that- Your on of the toughest sum bitches I know- Hell I live on the other side of the country from you and I'm still scared your gonaa beat the crap outta me!!! This is why I get so ramped up about those kinds of threads. IMHO I think that they have no business here. If folks want to spew hatefull rants they should go somewhere else where it's acceptable... like a skin-head message board. This place is for the people who love rocks and love the people who love rocks. Can't we all just stick to the rocks? argh.... where's my rock hammer... |

Really......stay xenaswolf.......there's been plenty of jokes and opinions about every type of person and race and religion, etc. Unfortunately, as long as humans are around, there will always be prejudice. Just being a woman in a man's world can be hard enough, but I know I've never experienced extreme prejudice so I don't know how you really feel. The majority here are because of rocks. I know they don't want to put hard-core restrictions on what is posted here, but I would hope the members here would remember that there are all types here and that they should be a little more considerate of what they post. I know sometimes some of the threads were posted without thinking it would offend someone but it did. Please reconsider and stay. Just ignore the offending individual. Maybe then they will get the hint!

I feel that I must be guilty because I have, in an effort to try to avoid conflict, not posted to those threads. I'm saddened and sickened by them and I'm so sorry that its driving members away...especially you xenaswolf who have offered only help and happiness to this board. I know that others have posted their unhappiness with the way those threads go and I've always felt that I couldn't offer anything better than what members like Blarneystone have posted. In that, I was wrong. Don't leave. Don't think that those of of us who didn't want to add to the postings were agreeing. In my case, certainly, it couldn't be farther from the truth and I'm sorry I didn't say so earlier. In the past, I have tried to offer a certain levity to threads where I could but to those, I just move along. I apologize Lesa...I really do. I value you as a member and would like you to stay.

I totally agree with Dan. I hope that you don't leave. There are narrowminded people everywhere, but not all of us fall into that category. Besides, there are a lot of people (like me) who need your expertise. Ok, so that's a selfish reason on my part. LOL

I know I've said things that you don't like, but you have said things I don't agree with. I'm not leaving and neither should you. Either ignore these threads or state your case and don't take it so personally. We all disagree on one thing or another.
I enjoy a hot and heavy debate, but if my opinions are hurting you and others on this board, I will no longer post to these threads.

I'm not going to get into wether the thread was proper. That's for each member to decide on their own. But...I want you to listen to what I'm about to say...
People say stupid things every day of our lives. Most of the time, the intent is not to hurt any single person... but to vent or to draw attention to themselves. Humans, for some crazy reason, think that by getting louder or more abrasive about things, it will make people agree with their view. Sometimes it even works.
But I want you to ask yourself a question. Have you ever said ANYTHING in public OR in private, that may have hurt, belittled or angered someone...even if the words were not directed solely at them? I do not believe there is one person on the face of this planet that could say no. In my humble opinion, we've all been dumbasses at one time or another. I really believe in my heart that Lonewolf never intended to hurt you, onewoman or anyone else with his statements. AND...I'll bet, given the chance, he'd probably apologize for any hurts he may have caused you two or others. How many times have you been in a heated conversation with others, only to have one individual get so upset that their final retort can end up being, "Hey!...you can all go %@#* yourselves!"
If I thought he was a bad man...I'd say so real loud. But he's not, IMHO. I'm just as guilty as anyone else for saying things out loud without thinking about the fallout that may happen. Please...either forgive us dumbass people who engage our mouths first & think later...OR...ignore us dumbasses as people you could give two flips about cause we are stupid & why would you listen to a stupid person? But under NO circumstances, should you leave this board because of a thread caused by someones kneejerk reaction to a political issue.
Stand up.
Be proud of yourself & who you are.

Hey Xena whenever I see a thread title that promises to develop into a bashing of a group of people - I usually just stay away from them (cos they make me mad!!).
Please don't take this lack of response as a tacit approval of the things they say - it is just that I don't want to spoil the overwhelmingly positive and supportive RTH experience by getting embroiled in an argument. Everyone has their own opinion - I love the diversity of this board. Yes, sometimes certain parts of the board can degenerate into negativity and prejudice but I guess you'd find that anywhere. That doesn't make it right but it does make it representative of the wider world we live in.
Rocks rule - when we stick to rocks, tumbling and other stuff we rarely disagree with each other in fact, bonds between members become stronger (regardless of who they are, where they come from, who they love.......).
I like to keep this positivity in mind when posting on these boards - don't be bullied off this board. For every member that you might dislike or disagree with there will be at least 50 others that will restore your faith in humankind!!
Stay Xena - we can't let you go!!! Too many rocks to cut and tumble to let a few cyberspace comments get in the way!!

i echo the heartfelt response of all of the above, Xena, please don't go. we all have good days and bad days and days we just want to crawl into a hole, but we are your friends here, i hope you know that. we are family in a way. and like most families, we are going to have our moments of disharmony. please try to rise above it this time, and i promise i will be more vigilant about hate threads in the future.

No one wants you to leave, I did not even know about the thread until another member told me they were going to take a break because of it the other day, when I asked why I was sent the link. Please do not throw away what you can learn from the board and what we can learn from you.

Lesa, I am hart broke by all this and hope that you will reconsider you are family to me like meny here and it would truly hurt to see you go.
