wow - I thought our weather changes were bad! We had a couple of hail storms here earlier in the week - but nothing like you guys get out west probably - for us marble sized hail is large. Having said that, it still put a beat down on everyone's flowers here! Can't imagine it snowing this late in the year! What are your day time temps there? We're at about 90 right now and had been really really dry up until the storms earlier - so anything that survived the drought like conditions (ie anything that people took the time to water!) was then beat to a pulp by the hail - anything that survived THAT is now being ripped by today's wind and burned by the heat. Ah - weather. It's so cool. (sorry 'bout your flowers though!)

I feel your frustration. Haven't tried planting anything but last Saturday we planned to go on a fossil dig here in Florida. Friday was the first day of Hurricane Season and what did we get? Tropical Storm Barry throughout Friday and into Saturday night. But at least it wasn't snow. Been there. Done that. Don't want to do it anymore.
I do miss watching the snow fall though. But then I always seemed to fall down in it myself!
I hope at least some of your garden survived. Spring's gotta show up soon. :-) Lady B

Hey Steph, I hear ya! 34 hours ago it was 34 degrees here. Right now it's pushing 90 degrees. 30 hours from now it's supposed to be back down in the middle 40's. Go figure! I can't complain about all the rain though. The last two years have been terribly dry here. I really need a wet year, especially after going all winter without any snow either. We really count on that snowfall to keep the moisture content in the ground up. Good thing I'm not made of sugar, 'cause the rain doesn't even slow me down. Ron

Cina: We have not had any rain here in West Georgia in about 10 weeks. Would love snow here right now.....! Temp is 92..........!! In 94 on the 14thth of June in Yellowstone, there was 8 inches of snow on road on the South Pass road.... really wild for a southern raised guy. My grass is dead, only weeds seem to be making it right now.... Take Care, Still Digging in the HOT DRY Dirt, GaRock (frank)

I'd love to have snow. Being that we don't get it very much, I enjoy it a lot. Wanna trade? It's close to 100 degrees out here in west Texas.

Snowing? It's been hot here, tomorrow will be in the "upper" 90's. I can't even imagine snow right now.

South East Queensland, where i live, is experiencing the worst drought on record. Our city's major dam is down to just over 18% capacity. We are not allowed to spend more than 4 minutes in a shower. There is no filling swimming pools, washing cars or boats, water gardens or lawns or doing any outdoors work with town water. (I wish I owned a rainwater tank business right now...there is a 3 month waiting list for tanks).
BUT we had 24 hours of solid rain from Tuesday night to Wednesday night. The longest rainfall we have had in over 3 years. My lawn has a greenish tinge to it now...how exciting. at the same time, it only added 7 days worth of water to the dam.
Things are really tough for our farmers (a lot of properties having to be sold and a lot of suicides too. Very sad.) and the prices of fruit and veggies just keeps going up.
BRING ON THE RAIN!!!
Mike

we had so much rain here in Dallas that our heat resistant flowers we planted last month, which were doing fine and blooming like crazy, all drowned. There goes $30 in plants At least the weather in TN was pleasant last week, got a half ton of unakite from the Unaka Mountains. If only I had a use for it

It is starting to get quite cold over here in Australia. It's usually dry and hot but we have recently received rain, but it is still not enough.
