Well, after many, many people here in SW Nebraska have prayed for rain for the past 8 years, those prayers were finally answered. All at once! Here's an "after" photo sample: You can also go here to see 'during' photos, if you are interested: www.chase3000.com/userpages/2007flood/No one has been injured. A few exciting moments, like when we thought the Champion Lake dam and historic mill would become even more historic (or just plain HISTORY; several empty lakes are now full; we are now the second "Land of many lakes" but our lakes are on corn and wheat fields. ;D To all our Kansas members who are familiar with the Kansas/Nebraska water dispute: we thought we were going to pay all that water back in 2 days! My basement is a little soggy and squishy, and it was still raining this morning, so I couldn't pull the rugs outside to dry off. A minor inconvenience! Altho I did have to unplug my new Lot-O and bring it upstairs. (I am not allowed to plug it in, however, because it vibrates the whole house upstairs!) So many area folks have lost so much more! Especially in crop income. Some still can't get to town, or get back home, due to the washed out roads.

It's good to hear you're ok, Karen. Lack of measure is not good (in fact the only field where it seems to be good is rocks ;D), especially when it comes from nature. And it seems She enjoies overwhelming us lately with such excesses.

Wow Karen, I had no idea. Glad you're ok and hope things have settled down some. Wish we had some of that rain up here, we're drying up again like last year.
