What a delicious thread! My fav? My own homemade beef & noodles over mashed potatoes. But you have to use real, thick and chewy homemade noodles or (if you must!) the frozen Grandmas noodles. I think the mashed potatoes must be a Midwest thing; we had it w/out in other states. And cheesecake, of course! The real stuff, not the Jell-O kind! Yum!

How about all of the above? Not all that fussy here, although please describe what a kedgeree is. However, to pick just one, then I would say baby back ribs. Unfortunately due to health reasons, I limit myself to just one meal of these a quarter. For sweets, anything with chocolate. Right now I'm sitting in a Starbucks having one of their muffins, which seems hard to beat at the moment.

A good hot cup of milk and cocoa (as a child I used to add sugar, but now I've discovered it's very tasty without it).

Menudo. That's beef tripe (cow belly) with hominy, red chili sauce, oregano, salt, and lime to taste. This by the way, is an instant cure for hangovers. Not that I would know that. I don't drink, but I grew up around it, and it always worked.

Peanut Butter! Sometimes I can't even keep the stuff around the house because that's what I'll eat instead of a regular meal, right out of the jar with just a spoon. Half a jar later and I realize how miserably full I am.
I gave up the refined sugar and starchy stuff years ago and what happened, I got a peanut butter addiction (along with cheese)
