I'm not sure how many of you are into metal detecting. I have a metal detector that I've owned since 1978. I don't let myself buy gifts for myself often. I've let myself get quite a few rocks lately, but it was good deals from RTHers. Equipment wise........I did break down and bought a vibe unit awhile back, but have sold some nice necklaces with pendants done wiht the vibe, so it was done as a business expense!
I want a 16 or 18 inch saw so bad it's killing me, but thats a bit of a gift! Soooooooo, after much debate, figured its time for me a new metal detector. With all the new places I go to to rockhound, been a number of times I wished I had a better detector. My old mustang still works sometimes, if it feels like it. After much debate, struggling with the fact.......do I get me a gift........I need clothes.......... I made the decision that if enough stuff sells on ebay the next week, I will break down and get a new detector. The last 2 days I sold about 100 worth on ebay.......this morning I ordered a Garrett Ace 250 metal detector. I absolutely can't wait for it to get here!
The blade and grinding wheel are on their way for my $2 rockrascal saw also. Was that a gift........well, the rock rascal may be sold for a good chunk of money if I decide its just not for me, which I have a feeling thats the deal. I have a guy chomping at the bit to buy it once the blade and wheel gets here for it, told him I wanted to try it, if its not for me, its his and I will more than get my money from it.
So back to being tight with the money and will continue to put my egg money into a jar to save for the 16 inch saw
