Craig Biggio needs only three to reach the 3,000 hit mark for his professional baseball career. For those that don't know, Craig is one of the good guys in ML baseball. He is a true role model and I'm proud to have this guy playing for my home town's team... the Astros. You Da Man! Craig!!www.baseball-reference.com/b/biggicr01.shtmlen.wikipedia.org/wiki/3000_hit_clubDang!.. he just hit a grounder up the middle... Woo Hoo! Only 2 now!!

Well... he did it! Got 5 hits in last nights game.
Cher - Biggio is just a regular guy.. not very big.. not very fast but he always gives 100%.. He's won 2 gold glove awards at 2 different positions. He has more base hits tha any other active player.. including Bonds.
It's been a real treat to watch his career. Dan

Biggio has never been accused of or associated with using steroids. He may not be big in physical stature but in the ways that really count--being a positive role model, giving his all to whatever team he is with, being good to his fans--his name says it all. He is Craig BIGgio!
I am very, very happy for Craig and all his fans! Making it to the 3000 Hit Club is SWEET!

It's great to know there are still the great ball players out there. The fact that Biggio has remained with the Astros for his entire career alone says something to me - that kind of loyalty gets passed by for the "big" named players. Lady B - I'm right there with you on Cal. I'll forever be an Orioles fan simply because of him...even when they remain consistently 4th in their division. That's okay - we almost swept the Yankees this time...that would have been something for us.

...The fact that Biggio has remained with the Astros for his entire career alone says something to me - that kind of loyalty gets passed by for the "big" named players. Ronda - You are absolutely right!! If I remember.. both Craig and Jeff Bagwell renegotiated their contracts twice.. both taking defered payments to make room in the salary cap so we could sign Randy Johnson and then Roger Clemens. That type of thing is unheard of these days and just goes to show how much these 2 guys love the game and the type of loyalty they have for the fans in Houston. ESPN has been running the post game interview with Craig this morning... let me tell ya... choked me up. Can't say enough about his character... that's for sure. Dan
