I'm with you Erbo, I can not begin to understand the mind set of someone who hates so much they will kill innocent people.

*sigh* me too Spike, I just don't get it. I cannot imagine living that mad all the time ... I hope they all have bleeding ulcers!

I share in all of the sadness and anger and disgust with perpetrators of hatred and the total disregard for innocents' lives.
One of my very elderly patients was a genuine delight when it came to reacting to hatefilled minds and wishing appropriate curses upon evil people. She taught me that if you are going to call down a curse upon someone make sure it is not something that could be treated and cured. So, Cher, I cannot hope they all have bleeding ulcers! Too easily treated and oftentimes fully cured. Instead I place upon them my now most favored curse: May they all have hemorrhoids as big as an elephant's trunk. Just the visual of that makes me feel good.
If only people could really hear and live by the words of John Lennon..."All we are saying is give Peace a chance."

I do not even pretend to understand the mind set of individuals that can do such things but I find myself asking. Would they leave us alone if we left them alone? Answer - I don't know.

In the end, I think they undermine their own cause. Reasonable people do not support the mass murder of civilians, never have, never will. So they can only appeal to the extremist element, which means they will alway be relegated to the fringe. No doubt they can kill a lot of people if that's what they choose to do, but that will only help to further their isolation as a fringe group of extremists. -Don

I can understand hate - but I'll never understand the "I hate you so much I gonna kill myself" over it type of hate that some in this world have.

They have to be mentally-ill, that's the only reasonable explanation.....they've been brainwashed to follow some extremist religion and/or doctrine, thinking it will make them a martyr for their cause. Yeah, it draws attention to their twisted cause, but they're too stupid to realize that it makes them look twisted!

I think any extreme faniticism is a form of mental illness. Sadly, I can imagine hate and dispair so extreme it blots all else out - even the self. Years ago, it was a place I chose not to go, but I could almost see/imagine it. Scary.
