Hi Takila! Yep we have quite a few scooters over here - especially in the cities where the traffic is crazy. Italy is the place to go for scooters - they are everywhere!! I like mine because where we live is quite rural with very narrow lanes and I can whizz around whilst everyone else in their cars has to back up if they meet someone else!
Once I had to park my bike in our local town and all the motorcycle spaces were taken up by massive Harleys (I think there was a convention somewhere). They were really kind to me and shuffled up their bikes so I could get mine in!! They were laughing really hard but not in an unkind way - it was a really nice moment.

I beg to differ. The sportster will hold it's value alot better than a jap bike. I don't know too many people that are still riding a 1975 Honda but alot are still riding an old sportster or an old panhead. A new Sportster 883L only weighs in at 580# and will cost ya about 7k. the Honda you pictured weighs in at 556#. Ride the sportster for a couple years and you will still be able to sell it for 6k. Ride the Honda for a couple years and you might be able to get 2,5k for it. Besides why would you want to give a jap. company your American dollars for something new. My bike weighs in at a mere 965#

Mine's a 1983 Suzuki GS1100E. It was the year of the "black-out" engine. I changed the color scheme from blue to metallic black. I switched the handlebars to a straight bar, added an aftermarket oil cooler, and made numerous cosmetic changes. I replaced the air box with a K&N "coffee can" filter, and the exhaust is a Kerker 4-into-1 megaphone, open. Vintage Japanese muscle on steroids!

There will always be the rivalry between people who driver American-made vs. non-American made bikes and cars. If Harley made a scooter that I could afford, I would have bought it, but at this point in time, they don't. I prefer American made (or at least American originated ) products over Asian-made products, but some things America doesn't make (like electronics). But that's just me. The majority of American-made vehicles have a lot of over-seas made parts on them, so there's no American only made products anymore, or very few anyway. But to each's own......THAT IS THE AMERICAN WAY! You have the choice! Not every country or culture has that opportunity!
