Yes, she needs a motorcycle endorsement to drive it. Here in Wisconsin anything over 50cc you need a liscense.

It's got a back seat, Edog. Did you ask her for a ride?

Yuck, I hate seeing myself in photos! I really need a tan......and what happened to my 19 year old body?! Anyway, it's kind of neat, but I'm still a little nervous riding it. Back in my "younger" days I had a few experiences where I was riding a dirt bike and a Sportser and dropped them (nothing major, just turning at low speeds). So I think I keep having flashbacks or something! I guess I didn't "get back on the horse". Anyway, I want to do this. When I'm driving on the straight-away, it's fun. Once I get used to it and get a little confidence, then I will brave the traffic. Maybe I'll be able to upgrade and eventually get my own "hog"!
The scooter is capable of going highway speeds, but I personally won't take it on the freeway. Cars and semi's are a little too intimidating at 55+ MPH! We did take a ride together on it around the neighborhood, but, I think we kind of went over on the max. weight limit! LOL! We have a couple of full-face helmets and Earthdog has a Harley half-helmet. The full-face helmet is a little too much for the scooter (picture someone wearing one while they're riding their 10-speed bicycle). And wearing a Harley helmet on a non-Harley is taboo! I'm going to have to pick up a half-helmet for it.

WTG takila!! You'll be in the swing of things in no time though I can totally relate to "dropping" the bike when turning at low speeds. I used to have a Honda CB900 and loved it, rode it to work all the time. My hubby used it one day and when he parked it he left it in od, dumb me didn't check when I took it out and she died on me at a corner, man that sucker was tough to pick up alone but I managed. Boy was I $@$%@^ .... needless to say, he wasn't allowed on my bike after that. Man, I'd love to have something like your's now, be great for running to the store and whatnot.
PS .... don't know what the weight is but I always carried an electrical plate cover with me to toss under the kickstand on hot days to stop it from sinking into the asphalt. Horrid coming out and finding your bike laying down.

Oh, I'm sure it could fall over on unstable ground. I'm sure it's as heavy as a 250cc dirt bike. But I hope to not ever find out if I can pick it up or not! LOL! There's a lot of plastic on it and I'm sure it wouldn't take much to mess it up. I'll have to get a kickstand plate for mine, too. I know Earthdog has one stored on his bike and we've used it when parking in a dirt parking lot, etc. Mine also has a center stand. It'll be fun to ride, once I get passed my nervousness!

I'm wondering when we get to see a photo of EDog sitting on it? bd ps. Here in Michigan, you need a motorcycle endorsement on your license, but it's a restricted endorsement if all you are riding is a scooter. Not near so hard to get. But then I ride, and I don't have an endorsement. If you don't do anything wrong to get stopped, there won't be a problem.

I was laughing, cuz a Harley, it ain't! I will be proud to have my wife ride next to me, when I'm on the black cherry beast, riding out to the Hogs Nest to have a cold one. Ain't noone gonna say anything about her "jap crap" when I'm riding next to her! I can see the pin striping, air horn and the LED engine lights on the scotter now.

He he he - cool bike Takila! I've got a 50cc scooter - it sounds like a hairdryer and has less power than my Dad's lawnmower but I love it nonetheless. Welcome to the scooter club!!!

Thanks, erbojones! Is there a lot of scooters used where you live? I know European fuel costs a lot more than here in the States.

Hey Jimmy, I understand completely. All of my friends ride Harleys, but I ride a V-Star 1300. I like their bikes, but I love mine as well. I'm trying to get my wife to ride with me, no matter what she wants to ride. Don't matter to me! I always wave at scooters as well as motorcycles. Anything on two wheels, after all, is part of the brotherhood! bd
