Hi Everyone:
I've had many credit problems due to a severe accident I had. I see where a lot of people on this board buy rocks on ebay. Because of my past credit history- I can't register for ebay since you need a credit card. What about those debit cards you can buy at stores? Does anyone know if they will work? My guess is probably not but thought I'd ask anyway.

Hi Roberte! I tried one of the cards you load up. It wouldn't work on e-bay. You have to have an address that ties in with the billing of a credit or debit card. In fact...I found out later, that you will lose $$ over a period of time if you don't use it. I won't make that mistake again!!

Can you set up a PayPal account and use that to register for ebay? With PayPal, you can set it up to debit your bank account directly, which might allow you to register without a credit card. Not sure though. -Don

If you give your checking info when registering l don't think you need a card, they just want to make sure they"ebay" get their share, this is for buying, not sure about selling E

i wouldent give them my bank info man -- see if you can deposit cash in an ebay account to draw from for purchases -- i had a prob with them when i sent the payment to a wrong email addy and canceled it they held the first payment of over 400.00 for like a week even thought it was canceled instead of just deleting the transaction and i bounced like 4 checks because of it -- and i made the mistake and fixed it in a matter of 20 mins so the transaction never even went through and could have been deleted but they chose to hod the money to make the intrest on it for a week --- the thing that really gets me is when i asked they told me the first email was not even good for anyone so it wasent even being used --- thats when i closed my account and they will never get my bank info again -- i use a debit card visa backed with the new account i opend so i can depute it when paypal says we cant help you with this i can call the visa people and cancel a payment --- thats why they dog ya for your bank info once they have the info for the bank transaction your screwed if they feel they should just keep it hahaha

l've had some minor problems with ebay,or really with paypal holding my paypal account hostage but that was covered in another post,my bank, wells fargo, kills a transaction at once if l change my mind,l think you have three days according to federal law to change your mind, might be easier to just buy elsewhere

Set up a totally new different bank account and keep the minimum in there to keep it open and use that for paypal.
