Very interesting, I wander if they keep it frozen. Eitherway, it will probably decompose.

I got to see a couple of fully assembled mammoth skeletons last week, those things were big! It would be cool to bring them back.

And we want to be able to clone a mammoth because... ? Does anyone else hear the theme music to Jurassic Park, here? Why can't the scientists just acknowledge the mystery and the wonder of this phenomenal find and leave well enough alone? Did you all know that skeletal remains of Mammoths have been found here in Florida? Very close to the remains of an 18-foot tall sloth. And you thought we only had alligators and flamingoes here in Florida!! Lady B

I just read about this whilest partaking of my coffee! WOW!
Adrian...remember Otsi? (I know...I just butchered his name) The frozen man found in the Italian Alps? They keep him in a climate controlled room in a frozen state. They even started seeing bacterial activity one time while doing tests & it darn near made the scientists have a coronary! I hope they don't clone this baby. But wouldn't it be cool if they were able find a relative alive & well somewhere in the world?

I'm sure most scientists have a healthy curiosity about cloning an extinct species but....the thing that will really drive this is some entrapeneurs healthy(?) desire to make money. Remember folks, when they say it's about respect,(world peace, a cure for cancer, etc ) they really mean the money.
