Sheri, You serious?!? Bizarre at it sounds, I was as close as you can get to getting fired today as well. I kind of blew-up....lots of stress lately, and it all came out on my supervisor. Steve

OMG ... Sheri I am so sorry, is there anyone you can go to higher up for discussion on why this happened?
Steve, I'm glad you didn't get the boot, make happy with the super somehow so you don't need to worry.

I am not kidding. I have no clue! I was given a raise and a promotion just a couple of months ago! I was 10 minutes late back from work due to a train, and he fired me. I have never been late before. In fact, I never even take a full hour. I usually only take 45 minutes. I always have overtime! I have no clue what set him off. I am still in shock! Like I really need this on top of everything else! Just when things were beginning to look up for me! Sucks!

Hang in there Sheri! Although it stinks to get fired, there may just be something better in store for you.
Saying some prayers but but I already know that God is looking out for ya.

not knowing the whole situation, i'd go back on monday and try and get some clarification. most companies have rules and you can't just get fired for no reason. laid off, perhaps, but not fired. this will also affect your unemployment, so fix yourself up and go in there first thing monday. you deserve an explanation.

That sounds really BUNK to me Sherri, unless your boss had to lay you off due to financial cut-backs and just didn't know how to tell you. I don't know about you but I would definately be wanting to get some sort of explanation right now...
In the interest of advocating optomism here though, maybe this is a blessing in disguise for you. It may be in the cards for you to get a better more secure or higher paying, lower stress job and this is simply the catalyst to help you make that happen...?

Maybe its time to move? Back to Arizona? I just don't understand! I know in my heart that there are bigger and better things out there for me.................it is just hard to believe it right now. I guess I am still in shock. I tried to call him yesterday around 5pm to see if I could get an explanation. He would not take my call. I filed for unemployment and will file with the EEOC. The only thing I can figure is that it is time for my Cancer checkups......there are 4 appts, Chest XRay, Mamo, Labwork and the actual Dr appt. It's only twice a year but they each take me away from work. I emailed copies of all the Dr's orders day before yesterday. I have only missed 2 days of work since last October. I am still shooting in the dark here. Thank you to everyone for all of your prayers and words of encouragement. I am just so depressed!

I would drive back over there and speak to him in person, find out what his reasons were for firing you then let him know what your always telling me..... That you love your job. Replacing you won't be easy because most people work at their jobs because they have to, if you like your job, chances are you are doing it better so you should also let him know you won't be easy to replace. What a bummer but hey, nothing is stopping you from moving back here now. Yippy maybe I'll get my rockhounding buddy back.....
I really am sorry, if he doesn't take the time to give you an explanation, write a letter to his supervisor and tell him the situation, what ever it takes............I'll sit here and be mad with you until you find out whats going on........
