Well, I've been on vacation for the last week, and thought it was time to catch up on some quality time outdoors. My Dad is recovering greatly from his heart surgery a few months ago, and me and Christian decided to treat him to a couple of days of fishing. It's always fun for the "boys" to get away, and we hit a couple of places near home that offer easy access for Dad, and no worrying about a 4yr old and water. The first place was in the very far corner of N.W.Ohio, called La Su Ann Wildlife area. There are a combination of 13 small lakes and ponds that hold some awesome bluegill(10+") and bass fishing( must be 17" to keep). It used to be privately owned, but the State acquired it and offers fishing by permit and reservation only, and has turned it into an awesome fishery. We fished a small 10 acer lake and had a great time, catching about 30 bass and bluegill in about 3 hours. Here are a couple more from a local park just for kids and their parents - No fish caught, but still a great day!.... Finally some scenery pics of the Maumee river - the dam and canal at Grand Rapids/Providence. Cool wading on a hot day!! Thanks for looking!

Nice photos! But it is even nicer that you could share this experience across three generations. True treasures.

Largemouth bass, that is something that generations enjoy catching. I always threw them back, but my kids really got kick out of catching them. Use ultralight gear, and feels like you've got a whale on the there!

Great fun you must have had. Especially with your dad. Glad he recovered nicely.

Last pic is great. I love fishing streams like that here in Georgia & Alabama. Glad to see your Dad up and about after his operation. I'm sure it was a great time for all. Still Digging in the Dirt, GaRock (Frank)

Yes, it is really great to be able to share the quality time across three generations. It really boosted Dad's spirits being able to get out and enjoy life again after his by-pass in April. He is still a bit slow, weak and apprehensive, but getting stronger every day. He always taught me the joys of the outdoors growing up as a kid, and it is great to be able have him still to pass the same on to my son too, plus it gives us(me) a chance to give some back to him also.
