wife got in car this morning...1999 chevy blazer...put key in ignition...heard ding ding ding...turned ignition....nothing...but all the lights started flashing on the dashboard...all of them that would flash were flashing she said.
turned ignition off....tried again....no ding ding ding this time.....again nothing....but everything started flashing again.
any idea where i start looking for the problem?....or what it might be?....kev.

I'd start with the battery, then check the alternator.

I find most often the battery posts need to be cleaned...both the post and clamps...just be careful to keep them marked.. + or - ...this hot weather is just as bad as the cold...

Also, if it was very hot in your area and don't have a maintainance-free batery, check the liquid level in the batery and complete with distilled water if necessary.

starter motor sounds like it's fried? is it cranking at all? if the lights are flashing, it's got juice, but check your battery terminals.....do your headlights come on?
could be your timing chain?
good luck, Kev.

glad it was an easy fix kev-- nuttin worse then big car repair bills i know hahaha
with they way they have made the newer cars dependent on the computer it dont take much to set them off coulda been anything loose battery cable or wire on the starter or altinator anything that can make a surge can screw up the brain --thats why i said take cable off for a few mins when you reconect it lets the computer reboot when you said the lights where blinking it sounded like a warning from the computer that something just wasent right it wasent reading the comands right or something
