Often times in law enforcement when someone gets away with something bad the words "well what goes around, comes around" as in he will be paid back some how, would be said.
Well here is a true story of how that worked in reverse.
My kid Chris served a year in Iraq, while there and near the end of their tour a close friend of his was killed, he took it pretty hard.
Two weeks after his unit returned to their base in Washington state they got their first leave and instead of coming home; 2 of the 9, the nine that swore they would visit the parents, flew to Virginia. Chris was one of the two, while I hated he did not come home I respected what he did. They were welcomed like you would not believe and I was very proud of him. That was a year ago.
Long story short there were more friends of course, one lived in Idaho and his mother was there when they left for Iraq, and was there when they came back. Chris and a few of his friends transfered to a Calvary unit and has been in Germany for about nine months. Two months ago the Idaho mother and her other two sons went there to visit her son and the other guys. Two weeks later her son was killed in a tragic accident on the firing range. Chris took it very hard.
Our trip to Tenn. for the wedding was a complete surprise to Chris, we had said things like wish we could be there etc. He was very excited when we all pulled into the parking lot. But little did any of us know what was to come, 30 mins before the ceremony a lady and two men came into the chapel, Chris nearly went to his knees, I only learned the whole story after and was a little confused at first when they were seated on the front row and the families were on the second, it did not bother me but just wondered.
Well you already know more than I did, these people drove day and night in shifts from Idaho near the Oregon border just to be there for my son. We were honored to be able to spend a few hours after the ceremony with this strong woman and her two remaining sons.
