Kind of hard to say without knowing the route you're taking but here's a couple of ideas. I'm assuming you're going to be passing through Minnesota, if you get near Moose Lake, stop in and see the 108 pound Lake Superior Agate at the bank and the Agate Geological Center is pretty cool too. There's people in the area that have gravel pits you can dig in for lakers, also you can find them on nearly any dirt road between there and the cities. If you're going to be anywhere near the Yellowstone River in Montana, you should be able to find some Montana Moss agates.

I don't know of any great places for rock hunting, since Wisconsin is not known for it's rocks, but Earthdog and I live right between Chicago and Milwaukee......maybe meet for coffee or over the weekend? Drop us a PM.................

WM, I live right in Green Bay, think there might be time to stop for a coffee/chat, meet somewhere? I live 1/2 mi from Lambeau. As Takila said, sorry, no rockhunting here. Let me know if there is a possibility for you time-wise--- Nona
