Yes, it bothers me the people we elect mix the ideal of "Freedom" with "profit". When its their freedom to make as much profit as they can off of wars and the lower class.

Too political for me...............but it is scarey to think our govt. can take what "they" deem is a threat, but at the same time, there's people out there willing to help terrorists..........so what is the right answer?..............there really isn't one!

actually quite a few governments have and have had the equivalent of "eminent domain" for a long time, for less honorable reasons than foiling terrorism. the system is the inherent power of the state to seize a citizen's private property, expropriate private property, or rights in private property, without the owner's consent. The property is taken either for government use or by delegation to third parties who will devote it to "public use." it sucks, but it's been around for a while.

Yes, Krazydiamond, that took place out in Denver, CO when they wanted to build the Colorado Rockies baseball stadium! A family didn't want to sell their adjoining property to the people that were building the stadium, so the govt. stepped in and took their property by "eminent domain" and paid them pennies on the dollar. Totally wrong in my book! But at the same time, they could have sold their property for big money had they sold it outright to the stadium people! I can kind of understand the govt. doing it if they were building, let's say a military base on the coast to protect us from possible attacks from another country or, if an area kept on flooding or a volcano kept erupting and they took it to save lives, but a baseball stadium? Give me a break!
