I know most of us here have a tendency to walk around looking down...there are such beautiful rocks and stones to be found on the ground. But everyone once in a while it is also thrilling to look up (I grew up in Philly and rarely saw a star there, but I'm busy making up for lost time here in Florida). Found this neat article about a community in Arizona (this State sure has some neat people living in it ) and thought I would share what I learned. Enjoy! one of the dream places I hope to visit some day- But then I'm a bit spoiled- I live in the country and have very little light pollution- heck last winter my daughter and I spent a few night sitting inside with the telescope looking at Saturn and the Orion Nebula

Cool story Laby B, i bet its a neat place for sure. We have a "dark skies" act in lots of parts of Arizona. There is one streetlight in my neighborhood. Check this out, be real interesting to visit this when its done. www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/arts/highlights/001102_turrell.shtmlbut i havent heard anything new on it for years, as that link is 7 years old. So i dont know if they shut it down or it got stalled. But it was supposed to be ready for the 2012 Maya calender ended.

I did multiple searches re: Turrell and Roden Crater. It appears that he is still working on that project. He is a fascinating artist, isn't he? I'm sure many followers of New Age philosophy are interested in the Crater.
