Well, this afternoon, after a few days of phone tag, I had the privilege of meeting Wm7734, Bill. He is on vacation, and stopped over to see some of my latest rocks. Bill has lots of interesting stories about rocks----and did you know this guy built a cannon???!!!!! And the darn thing works--boom! Bill is shooting cannon balls! Wild story. We had a nice visit, gorgeous day for a change. I do thank Bill for stopping by. He can't figure out where all the rocks went to in Wisconsin----

A cannon??? Reminds me of a little story from my youth>
My dad was in the navy- and they used to participate in war games and one of the things they did was toss REAL M-80's (not those whimpy ones you see now adays- but the real ones- something like an eighth of a stick of dnaymite) into the water and to let off smoke bombs on the ships- well after being discharged he brought home one of each of the explosives home- well 1976 was Americas 200th so he decided to set off the naval explosives (figuring they were 10 years old they probably would just fizzle out) First the smoke bomb- he lit it and we all ran- it popped witha great big FLOOOUP and started to smoke and smoke and smoke and soon the entire block was filled with thick grey smoke- People came running out of their houses to see what the hell was going on so dad figured it would be a good time to try the M-80- he lit it and we ran- BA_BOOM the entire block rock, dogs started barking everywhere, and for 3 or 4 days my ears were ringing- dad blew a nice divot into the lawn- mom hid from the neighbors for a couple weeks, the police started to cruise up and down the street- needless to say my dad has not been aloud near explosives since!
