I don't usually post or reply here but:
The Iraqi parlaiment today decided to take a month off with very important things still on the table. I sent this to the local Wichita paper opinion line:
"Just after the Iraqi people find something to unite over the parliament takes a month off with critical stuff on the table? Are you freaking kidding me? Don't they realize that if we left right now they would be the first to be dragged out of their offices? For the first time since this started I am thinking let them have it."
I am pissed now, I have been behind it the whole time, but if they are not going to help themselves then why should we. This has NOTHING to do with my boys going there, One has already spent a full tour in that god forsaken country, I am proud of them both, and believe we went there with the best intentions.
If they wanted to hide behind the badge for a bit until they can get up enough gumption to step out (I am leaving out words I want to say) fine, but time is up!!
I had several biblical references ready, but I think you get the point.
I have, and do believe that if we do not deal with them there we will here, but you know what? I have enough ammo (in one form or another) in the house to take out two or three hundred and the one thing I do well is hit what I am aiming at.
This is the only post I will make to this thread.

There's a saying, though I don't know where it originated and if it's been taken out of context (like a lot of sayings/passages have)...................
God helps those who help themselves...........oops, wrong God!

I am all for the war- (ok not for the war but I support what we are trying to do their) But this is insane- It's almost like they don't want to fix the country (hmmm wonder where they got the idea of a month long vacation)

Don't you see? Don't you get it? If they take care of things themselves, they would have no one to blame but themselves!
What makes you think they want to take any part in the blame when they can keep on blaming us for trying to help them?
What makes you think they want to be the ONLY TARGET of their freakin' suicide bombers?
While I do support our soldiers and all they stand for, I do not support this war at all, it's time to bring them home and make the sandturds take care of their own poo!

The Iraqi's don't want us there. Ask yourself: Would You want someone else running your country? The answer is obvious, isn't it.
Most people in Iraq are much worse off now than they were before the war and they want us out. They are beset by Al Quida and sectarian violance that is likely to get worse before it gets better. And we can do nothing to make their situation better.
We don't know who is for us and who is against us and that makes our brave soldiers job untenable; they should be in clear soldiering situations, not peacekeeper and arbitrator roles.
Let's get out of there before any more of our valiant soldiers are hurt or worse. If Al Quida or any terrorist organization sets up shop in Iraq or elsewhere we have means of dealing with that. Let the Iraqis straighten out the mess in their country. Lets concentrate on our own borders and terrorism in this country and let others deal with their own countries.

we broke it, we gotta try and fix it. right or wrong, we are up to our eyeballs in this and we got to figure out a way to make it right. the people of Iraq didn't ask us for Shock and Awe, we marched in there all on our own.
after 38 years, the British troops are finally leaving Northern Ireland...38 years of strife and violence between the Catholics and the Protestants!!!! hard to believe, isn't it??
we stepped into a deep pile of crap in Iraq and we have no one else to blame except ourselves and our government. we can't leave and we can't stay, now we are going to sell all the neighbors MORE weapons. like this is gonna help?
i truly support our troops and the ideals of security for this nation and the rest of the world. i just think it's been terribly mismanaged over the many years (not just this administration), not thought out, not clearly planned....perhaps we as the human race are all guilty of being "a little people, silly people, greedy, barberous, and cruel".
trillions of dollars, pounds and euros are being spent on weapons, maybe they should be spent on something more worthwhile, like air conditioning for the Iraqi parliment?
don't mind me, i'm just venting.
