Hello again all! I'm back, at least for a little while, as I settle into a new place to live. Lots of chaos here, and until it's settled, I will only pop in every once in a while. Fot those who have been wondering about me, thank you. It's appreciated.
take care for now, Dan

Welcome back Dan! I thought you were on a trip and brought back tons of stuff for us to look at. Darn. Anyway, hope you get settled soon.

I'm moving to Austin this week. First thing that gets set up are the tumblers, then the fossil sandblaster and cab units Fun thing, down there, my uncle and cousins are all engineers, and I plan on showing them my new plans for giant tumblers - think 15 and 55 gallon drums. Hopefully, I can crank out some SERIOUS polished stones soon once they get built. The way I'm collecting stuff, my other tumblers just aren't cutting it. I have close to a half ton of the OK coral alone now. On the way back from the last trip, I stopped off again and raided the site for what was left of the coral before it gets paved over. That, plus about 200 pounds of barite rose rocks. That site's getting paved over too . At least I'll be a lot closer to the Rio Grande for agates. You can never collect all of those out of the gravel pits. Lots of good rock clubs in the Austin area. There are 5 or 6, and I used to be a member of several in the 80's and 90's, so it's like I'm coming home. Maybe I can get into the opalized wood sites on field trips again...
