The blue crab requires both inshore brackish waters and high salinity ocean waters to complete its life cycle. They are common from Massachusetts to Texas
i have been eatin blue claws all summer long for like 20 years and im startin to jones for some -- who lives around a place to catch or buy some -- prob catch cause they can get real pricey

John - When I was a kid my dad took me crabbin' in the summertime. We would use Turkey necks on a string and catch loads of tasty blues. Sure brings back memories....
I don't have much free time these days to go crabbin' but I can call around and find out if there's a place here that sells 'em. I can find out if they would ship directly to you. I think I might get some for myself too!

You guys talking about crab is making me hungry.
I remember crabbin' with my mom several years ago. We used chicken wings tied on a string. Boy we sure had a ball doing that. Then that night, boy what a feast.
I dont know anywhere around here to get blues though. Sorry about that.

we used to go to Rockport and use chicken necks on a string, fishing off the public docks. you pull them in real slowly, then when the crab is suspended close to the water surface, try to nail it with a net. My mom once had a blue latch onto her big toe after it got out of the net. OUCH!

You are making me hungry too! Crab Yummy! I love crab, crabcakes and crablegs. They are hard to find around here in the corn fields. We have to go to Red Lobster! LOL! When I was vacationing in North Carolina I had the best crab and crab cakes in the outter banks! Just makes me hungry thinking about it.

We used to go crabbin for Maryland Blue Crabs all the time as kids in Ocean City Md. Just like Blarney we used chicken necks on string and a chicken wire net. So much fun to catch them, even more fun eating them. When we went out to Ocean City Md. in May we were eatin crab soup, crab salad, crab cakes and anything else made with crab. The fresh crab sure beats the frozen king crab legs we get around here.
