Not a good time to go diving or surfing these days. The whites are out hunting. I was working on putting new sod in my front yard today and about noonish I saw a med helicopter flying over head. After taking a break and watching the news I figured out what it was, a surfer was bitten. I hope the poor surfer dude doesn't lose any limbs from the bite. I heard there was a lot of blood. The last few weeks there have been sightings of a white in the area from divers. This isn't the best time to be in the water, the seals are pupping and they make good snacks for the sharks. With white sharks being protected the last 20 years they are coming back in high numbers. Good thing they hate jade, from what I heard it wards them off. I am going diving tomorrow about 70 miles to the south, I will definitely keep my eyes open. Here is the news report: www.nbc11.com/news/13994771/detail.html?treets=bay&tml=bay_break&ts=T&tmi=bay_break_1_01320408282007

Awww man Tony, please be careful. I can't think of any reason in the world that would make it worth diving with the threat of great whites in the area. That was quite a chunk taken out of the surf board, that kid is lucky to be alive.

Tony Please be careful! Those guys are definately fighters and not lovers - wear a chainmaille suit - I heard that they protect against shark bite (maybe the sharks don't like the feel on their teeth)

Yes, be careful! All I can think about is the movie "Jaws" when I hear of attacks and the fears this movie brought on as a kids comes back to me. So, don't look like a seal when you're diving, ok?

Dude you are brave. Do you carry one of those shock sticks to protect yourself?
