LadyB you stole my idea. I was waiting until the end of the month to post about a polyana. Our woodturning club does one every year but we don't do rough wood, just finished items. I have gifts now from 7 or 8 different club members sitting on my shelves next to my turnings. I also have some tumbled pet wood that someone here sent me sitting on my computer at home. So yes this is a great idea and count me in. You have my addy. P.S. You like to take on BIG projects don't you.

I love it!! I would have no prob sending something overseas. Is there any way, and this is just an idea, that you could coordinate Canada people together, and overseas people together, to help w/the shipping? That might decrease the fun, but make it more economic. I have no idea if there is a price difference between provinces in Canada vs. US to Canada or vice versa, European to European vs. European to US (I'm assuming it's more to ship overseas, but... you never know), or Australian to Australian or Australian to anywhere else?
Is it less expensive to go South America to Australia or the US?
(If Ricardo and Claudia get my name, can I pay the shipping?)
Thanks so much for this! What a very fun idea!
Way to go, Lady! K

Okay! My turn again. I'll do a quick run-down based on each of the posts between my last re-cap and this one: - Tony (Catman)--you're in
- Erbo--Gotcha counted. I'll be posting info on rates so participants can let me know if they need to stay within certain shipping areas.
- Stefan--You're in, too.
- Harry--thought you would want in on the fun. Last time I checked we had no active Astronauts but we do occasionally get those "to the Moon" members! Will keep close tabs on locations as deadlines approach! ;D
- Wm7734--glad you're playing, too.
- Bikerrandy--I've been checking with the Elves and it's my understanding that you have made a serious mistake. You are not on the Naughty List AGAIN! That would suggest that on occasion you managed to get off that list. Nope, according to the Elves, your name is permanently inscribed, as in stone, on the Naughty List!!! ;D
- Tony (as in Wood Turner)--I did not steal your thunder!!! I am simply the message-keeper/tracker and the whip-cracker. Steve H is the one who stole your thunder (unless you are referring to the egg kind and then you might want to check for them in Australia. I hear the hens pop 'em out quite regularly there! )
Glad we can include you in the FUN!
Just one question. What ever gave you the idea this might be a BIG project? All I have to do is keep track of who is in and who has shipping restrictions and who is giving to whom and who is the littlest Who in Who-ville and... ;D
- Hermie--don't do it. You'll need those wrists to hold the flaps of the FRB in place while you struggle with the packing tape!
- OWA--Chocolate is ALWAYS a good choice!
- Steve H--shame on you! Do not encourage Bikerrandy to be naughty no matter how much coal might fit in his stockings! And why is he wearing stockings? Or is that what makes him so naughty!?!?!?
- Sandsman--that's the spirit!! Splurge! Splurge! Splurge!
- Karen--It's great that you're in. I'm working on the shipping from continent to continent. I think it will work out nicely for everyone!
That about covers the posts thus far. There are already 19 of us ready to get into the Holiday Spirit (or spirits, as the case may be )!!! And remember: it was Steve H who thought of this. I’m just along to keep the list and check it 42 times, and post these recaps and all that fun stuff! ;D Lady B

When someone asks you what it is that you do Kate, you must just answer with "RTH" Geez, if Rodney and I had someone like you working for us, we would be so organized we wouldn't know what to do with ourselves. Sure wish you lived here in Phoenix.

Look at all the mischief I've stirred up with just a few months under my belt here at RTH! ;D Lady B

this spring the post office went with "international" frb's --- don't know what they all are, but mexico is $18. -- canada is $22. and England is $37. ( max of 20# s , I think ) so even the over sea's wouldn't be too bad ------------ guess this means that I'm in too ! ;D ;D --- oh, and if someone doesn't have enough rocks , let me know and I will fill a box for them if they pay the postage for it , whereever, it needs to go ! wait , wait , not all 1500 members ! ;D but 6-8 would be fine ! ;D ;D

I've got some antlers we could strap on my (large) dog, if you need a reindeer. Oh, wait, wrong movie... Maybe we could revist the Grinch in a good way?

Well! This is an easy re-cap! The excitement has calmed a bit!: - Steve H—cease and desist with the lovely compliments. I’ll be doing this recap every two or three days for quite a few weeks. You’ll have my head so swollen and my cheeks so red from blushing, Bob will be entering me into the State Fair as the biggest radish in Florida! ;D
- Jamie—RTH! And that’s my final answer!
- Kev—You’re in and we’re glad you are already planning on exactly what you’ll be giving away. Well, almost exactly. Well, nearly sorta sure! That’s the Spirit!
- Karen—antlers sound good! I just love Max. He has such an adorable look on his face when the Grinch first attaches that tree branch to his head!
- Hermie—you’re not in. Wouldn’t want to cause further distress. Christmas is still 96 days away! Or is it 95? Do we count today or leave it out because, technically today’s day is just about over for most of us. And do we count Christmas Day or just the days leading up to Christmas Day? And then there’s Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Twelfth Night, Little Christmas, and Epiphany! All kinds of days to count. But you needn’t worry because as of this post, you are not counted in any more!
There now, that was short and candy-cane sweet, wasn’t it? I’ll be back in a few days. Have to revise my lists, don’t ya know? Lady B

OK Lady B. After reading all those threads and laughing inbetween, how could I resist! Count me in, it will be fun. But, one thing, can I be on the NAUGHTY list too? Thank's for the great idea. Is it Christmas yet?

OK, I guess I haven't been on the site much lately but now that I've seen this idea, you can count me in.
I guess if I'm going to be Santa I'd better start growing a full beard. HO, HO, HO and and an easrly Merry Christmas to All.

Aha! Just when you thought it was safe to visit the Life, the Universe and Everything Board I resurrect this thread!!! Here is another easy re-cap! - Adrian—You’re in and based on some PMs we have exchanged I think you feel pretty confident now about all the rules and exchanges and the who is-es and the what for’s. I’ll just refer any other confused RTHers to you re: how this is all going to magically work out! ;D
- Ed—It’s always good to know I can help make an RTHer laugh as can any number of crazy people here at this site! You’re in. And yes, I can add you to the Naughty List, too! [I’m thinking there is going to be quite a bit of coal getting exchanged this year!)
- Pete— I hope you have been working on that beard!!! We will need to see some regular postings of pix so we can advise as to whether or not your beard meets past-Santas’ standards!! I've heard Miracle-Gro works real well for special growing needs.
Rudolph is looking for the salt lick so I must go now! So far—so good! Ho-Ho-Ho and a bottle of rum to you all! Lady B
