Well, that was neat. I can see my 'Great Whites' wondering how the heck?

my first reaction was "aww, isn't that cute", but upon some reflection it really isn't all that cute. and certainly vegans wouldn't like it for some of the same reasons. overcoming an animals natural fear of humans endangers them. providing an artifical food source leads to overpopulation and possible starvation when that food source disappears.
now that looks like it was filmed somewhere in the outback so it wouldn't lead to some of the problems encountered related to feeding deer in my part of the countryside. which is, by the way, illegal in New York State. but feeding deer, especially near a highway can cause fatal traffic accidents for both man and beast.
on a lighter note, what a MESS that is, Granpa might be doing the dishing out, but you can bet your agates that it's Granma doing the cleaning up!

You can hear the guy in the film say "breakfast in Texas".
Those are some cute deer... but I bet they taste good too! The deer get pretty tame in the state parks here, they walk right up to you because they aren't being shot at all the time...lol.

KD, I'm in partial agreement with you about feeding them but don't some of us feed birds? They just go elsewhere when the food runs out (or they do at our place)
But those deer look starved though - and they are awful cute

When I first saw that video I wondered about the "right" and "wrong" of feeding the deer. I know my in-laws always put up salt licks and had out numerous different feed stations on their property up in West Chester County NY during the winter months. Down here in Florida it is an absolute NO to feed the wild deer.
What struck me about the video was the way in which some of the deer came over to the table and helped themselves to breakfast while others remained warily in the background. And interestingly--they seemed to gather closer to the woman than to the man.
Squirels, pidgeons, deer, ducks, fish, aligators--it seems there will always be people wanting to feed wild animals and others who see them as huntable/disposable vermin. Based on this video, I doubt that this was a onetime event for this couple. They were too "prepared" for their guests!
