I didn't want to HIJACK Tweeties thread on rounded rocks. But I'd like to follow up on that topic.
I've got a vibe and thought I read somewhere where you could attach something (a piece of rubber or something) in the vibe barrel to make the stones turn over a little more.
When I initially start a batch in course, they roll very nicely and rapidly. Then as soon as I add the grit the movement decreases markedly. Is this natural? OK? Expected? I know I really have a lot to learn and getting the right "slurry consistency" is on the top of my list. If I could get the right consistency and maybe a little more "roll over" things would work out better
Can anyone shed any light on this.

I don't know what type you are using, but in the TV-5, after they had been going for a while they would have a coating of mud and hopefully would be rotating up and back down like a washing machine. If they are stuck this is a BAD THING and you need to put in water right away. There is another cause, which would be if a large rock gets stuck and dams up the movement.
