Thanks everyone! Well.......normally I might run around in my birthday suit on my birthday but this year I am down and out with a head cold! But since Im self employed, I gave myself the day off and am bundled in my coziest sweats and slippers next to my nice warm wood stove. I will probably spend the day cabbing.....it doesnt get much better than that.
Thanks again for the birthday wishes!

Hope you feel better- I have a tried a true Head cold remedy- Take Scalding hot tea (any brand will do- as long as there is caffine in it) to this cup of scalding tea (the water HAS to boil) add the following: 1 TEABLESPOON (thats the bigger one) of Honey; 1 TABLESPOON of real lemon juice (the bottled stuff is ok- just be sure it's 100% juice) and a SHot of Jack Daniels (yes it has to be jack) Drink as carefully as possible (especially good just before bed) I promise you this- You'll feel better in the morning) (PS I have used this without the Jack Daniels as I no longer drink- It still works pretty good- but the Jack helps you sleep and really causes you to "sweat" the cold out!)

hey, Stefan, that sounds like my grandma's recipe! though she wasn't as specific as Jack only, any whiskey would do, in fact, she called it a "hot whiskey sling". she didn't always use tea either, sometimes she used sweet apple cider.
hope you are feeling better, Shannon.

My husband said his dad always drank the same thing for a cold. Hmm, might have to try that.
