Picture this....
Last night I go out into our attached garage to get something off my workbench when a mouse runs in front of me. My outdoor cat was sound asleep on her big feather blanket. I woke her up and told her it was time to hunt. This morning I go out expecting to see a dead mouse on my garage floor....nope. Lazy cat
Two hours ago I wasn't feeling too well so I laid down on the couch. 5 minutes into that I hear a squeak and say to myself "it's probably outside and if it's not I feel sorry for it" (I've got 9 indoor cats, long story behind that). 3 minutes later another squeak. "Alright I guess it's not outdoors" and I stumble off the couch only to see a mouse and one cat. Meanwhile 4 others are coming to check this mouse out. GREAT! I'm thinking I won't have to try and catch this thing.....WRONG! All five cats sit in a small circle with this little mouse in the center playing their own version of Hot Potato. "Sh*t, looks like I need my gloves" and as I"m walking away to retrieve said gloves I swear I hear one of the five vicious cats shriek and say "Ewwwww, I touched it!!!!!". So anyway I get the gloves, return to their entertaining game, and steal their potato. Every cat in unison "HEY!"
So I take this mouse outside, call my outdoor cat.......must be out looking for baby bunnies (longer story). Fine, I'll put this mouse under a plastic storage box, wait for her to return, and then give her a little treat. Don't know why I'm going to give her a treat since she slept through his visit last night but hey, if I just throw it into the woods chances are it'll return.
Question: So how many cats DOES it take to catch a mouse?
Answer: One, but they have to smarter than mine!
*Sigh*
So much fun living in the woods. Last night I had a turkey over my head....yes, a live-giant turkey. Scared the hell out of me!
