If you or anyone you know has one of these, it has been recalled as being unsafe.

"Behave yourself kids ...or we'll make you go down the slide AGAIN!" ;D ...But seriously though folks, cheap and even dangerous products from China and other developing industrial nations are flooding the market in North America. It's become a serious issue with all these "Dollar Stores" popping up everywhere. All the crap they sell at dollar stores comes from lowest bidder exporters who undoubtedly resort to all sorts of shady cut-throat tactics to keep a foot-hold in their markets. Next time you go in and buy some of those cheap trinket items at one of those stores, keep in mind the process by which those goods were brought to you and ask yourself if it's worth the ultimate price it has in the big picture to save a bit of cash settling for cheap inferior and ethically questionable import products. There are a lot of things to consider such as the environmental impact this is having on a global scale. Somewhere in China a new coal burning power plant goes online every week. Where do you think all the air pollution that produces ends up? (One world one atmosphere) How do you think those goods get here? On huge cargo ships that belch out black smoke for weeks or months before finally deliver their cargo to port, because it's still the cheapest way to ship in the long run. A simillar but higher quality product could be made more "locally", albeit at a higher price but it would have significantly less environmental impact per unit and provide less fodder for the landfill in the long run by lasting longer. Why do you think that domestic product manufacturers could never hope to compete with the prices of cheap imported goods? Because there is no way a domestic product manufacturer could get away with running their operation like they do in China over here. There are very few regulations placed on developing industry in China because it's good for their economy. China could care less, that gives them exactly the competitive edge they need to compete and take over in the North American consumer product market. Please, don't give in to cheap knock-off and inferior quality & ethically questionable import products, the lives and well being of you and everyone you care about is at stake here. Whenever you want to give in to the temptation of cheap import goods just think about the little boy on the slide and how he probably feels right now. Don't let it happen to you or your loved ones before taking a stand! ... this somewhat serious parody rant was brought to you in part by:

Does anyone else shift uncomfortably on their chairs whenever they look at that slide?!
That's gotta hurt!!
Although there was a documentary on British TV some years ago about people that pay others to use a grater on their downstairs equipment (if you know what I mean) - strange ..............
