Seems to be legitimate (you never know on the Internet). Of course, this one finding doesn't prove the hypothesis, but it is an interesting discovery and conclusion. More research is required. I am fascinated reading about things like this. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

That's interesting... I just saw a documentary about Egyptian desert glass and they think it is produced by the same type of event. They believe that a Meteoroid or Comet which exploded before impacting the ground may be responsible. An air burst event is far more destructive than a solid asteroid impact but probably wouldn't leave any type of crater. Here's an article that is dorectly related to the documantary: www.sandia.gov/news/publications/technology/2006/0804/glass.htmlThe explosive event that occured over Tunguska, Russia in 1908 is believed to have been caused by an air burst of a Meteoroid or Comet.. In true Xmas form every year we take off to somewhere we have never been and bring 2 different family members each year 1 from my side of the family and 1 from my wife's side. This year is looking like a 14 day cruse possibly to the Bahamas.
