CP was pushed one to many times. I went thru the same thing, speech therapy from 1st thru 7th grade and was teased a lot. When I was about 5 years old my cousin threw a rock saw blade at me like a Frisbee and it hit me right in the mouth, knocked out most all my teeth and made a mess of things. It affected my speech. So I have somewhat of a grasp on what CP was enduring except I fought many times but never just blew up till the 7th grade, same thing a bully pushing me in the back, he had two friends with him and these big dummies just thought that was funny as hell to push me. About the third time I did a full round house and decked the dude and we went at it, not wrestling-boxing. I could have messed him up real bad but just popped him several times and I seen a tear running down his cheek and I said (Truce?) he agreed and all was cool with him. BUT as some of the other members pointed out the next thing I knew I was getting challenged all the time and man CP if this happens just try and ignore them. I am of the firm belief of bite me and I will bite back, so he layed hands on you first. Just be careful, and like another poster stated, be real cautious for any funny business as this dude may be wanting revenge. Lastly, I agree, Schools need to wake the hell up with these bullies. It should be suspension 1 week for first offense, a semester for the 2nd and the School year for the 3rd...After Columbine we heard all this new reform, well I really ain't seen any??? I had to pull my daughter out of School and home school her because of vicious teasing of her weight which she has no control over it is a hormone imbalance she was born with. Sorry for this being so long. I hope all works out good for CP. Also an apology to everyone for being absent from here so long, just a lot of personal problems that are slowly getting worked out. Take care-Dale Rhode

kim...dale... i never thought about that situation...but cp will... and has avoided all confrontation.....untill....he was punched in the back from behind....hopefully that scenario wont play out....but i will mention it to him.
damn dale...all i could think was friggin ouch.....when i was little my mom hit me in the mouth with plastic hair brush...by mistake i might add...meant to hit somewhere else....but that hurt like heck...only second to the moccasion bites ;D
liz...he seems to think he did exactly what he needed to do....hes perfectly fine with what happened.....i havent talked to him anymore about it.....but i overheard him talking to his mom about it.
he told her he could have easily broken the guys neck....but he was totally aware of what he was doing....and he wouldnt have done that by no means....he just wanted to make sure the guy could not turn around and get an advantage on him....and he was totally listening to everyone around them the whole time.
thats why .....when the teacher said he was turning blue....he felt safe to let go.....even then he said he got up fast....just to make sure.
the only thing that seems to have made him feel a little weird....was people coming the office while he was in there....and saying chit like.... colton i cant beleive you are sitting there....apperantly they have a seat for the bad ones ;D
he is concerned about what his favorite teachears are going to think of him....i did hear that much also....kev.

I still don't get what it is gonna take for schools to deal with psychological abuse. It sounds like CP was being mentally abused. Being a teen is hard enough throw in some constant taunts and anyone would snap. I think it is great that CP kicked his a$$. In my opinion it went to far when that other kid pushed him from behind. Once you get to that point nothing else matters. A fight is gonna be a fight; teen levels of testosterone and elevated levels of adrenalin are gonna take over a teens mind; even most adults. It fight or flight and flight would only bring bring more torment. I would hold the school responsible. Schools do nothing to supervise kids in the halls, bathrooms and locker rooms; sometimes buses some now have cameras. This is were all the bullying takes place. I know schools have a lot to deal with but look at all the school shootings; what is it gonna take for people to demand that we don't stop educating and keeping an eye on kids once they leave the classroom. Well I hope that everyone in the school talks about why this happened and how it could be prevented. The real shame would be if no one learns something from this. Words can hurt as much or even more than fists. Depression can cause suicide. Verbal attacks should be treated just like physically attacks. If CP went around the halls sucker punching kids he was picking on I think the school would have done more than just moved kids around. If it were me I would see this as a warning sign that the school has a big problem with bullying and would demand they do something to educate and monitor the kids.

I feel so bad for Colton to have had to deal with this kind of thing. Being a kid is supposed to be a fun time in life, not having to watch your back all the time for bullies. My grandson has a bit of a problem and stutters a bit but this school he's at now has a very strict no bullying rule. Everyone is required to enforce it, including the kids. They have posters all over the school about and if they see someone bullying they are being taught to step up and stop it with words first, if that fails, get an adult. It seems to be going pretty smoothly so far, he told me recently he loves school ... I'm like huh? You're 12 Wow!
All this crap going on at school, all because a few stupid parents (who couldn't control their own kids) took control out of the educators hands too and look where it's gone.
I don't blame Colton for standing up for himself but it still goes back to the school doing nothing. Fighting in school is wrong, both should have been given at the very least a weeks worth of detention .... something to make them see they can't get away with it. *sigh* But that's just part of the problem ... they do get away with it. It's very sad ...
When I was a kid, we knew better than to fight in school. Most of the time if someone was being a bully, they'd get their butts kicked after school when no one but each other was there. Generally, the bully got whipped and was glad no one saw it. Most of the time, they learned respect and became friends. Whatever happened to respecting your fellow man?
Colton, I'm proud of you for taking it as long as you did and trying to get someone to listen to you about what was going on. But ... you're grounded for a week!!

Hey, Kev, Just so you know, Matt's been in a bit of hot H2O lately, too. Not fighting; he has been AWOL a few times (late nights!), and is flunking algebra. Gotta love em, but sometimes it takes practice!
And I have to say, for the record, that I just DO NOT GET a teacher, even if she is a young gal, having a relationship with an under-18-year-old guy. Nope, I just don't get it. Obviously, the teacher who was just arrested in Mexico has never had to do laundry for, nor walked into the room of, a young man of the 13-17 age group.
I'm thankful for the NORMAL kind of problems! Holy cow!

There are politicians, law enforcement officials, firemen/women, ministers, priests, parents, family members, athletes, medical personel. The list goes on and on. They come in all shapes, sizes and forms. They're all out there, and yes, I am an teacher. It's a bad rap that we get. Condor
