Too cool! My son and I camped out with the Boy Scouts at the Fall Jamboree one year, during turkey season, in a supposedly safe game refuge area. Aside from being pretty DARN cold, we were kept awake by the wild turkeys in the area. Did you know they actually roost in trees? Not very high, but they do. Then we were rousted out of our frost-covered tents before dawn (I swear it was before dawn!!) by the sound of shotguns. We were afraid to move! The Scoutmaster started singing a stupid song at the top of his lungs, everyone else followed suit, the shots quit. We got up and started making breakfast very, very noisily, with many flashlights. It was one of those "had to be there" moments. Then there was the time the turkeys came to town and were walking down main street.... but that's another story.

we watch the nightly "launch" every evening, the run fast and can fly almost vertically into the trees.
