Howdy folks, Just a bit of a rant here. As you probably all know I have a lot of rock stuff but am also into lots of other hobbies. Used to have my hobby stuff in the guest room as my wifes birds took over the other big bedroom. Well, Sher kept complaining about my evil looking sword collection on the guest room wall. ( I personally thought they were beautiful!) So we had another 450 square foot ( Mel's hobby room) built onto the house. During the summer I don't cab much so she set up a small office for the Raptor Center in my hobby room. So, weathers getting cold now and I go in to set my Genie up for a bunch of serious cabbing and find in the last couple of weeks the darling wife has piled all my showcase stuff, specimen trays, boxes, equipment etc in one small corner of the room where I actually had to dig my cabber out. My table where I organize showcases and specimens etc has been cleared and is full of bird paperwork etc. My taking-a nap-while-thinking -about- cabs sofa is buried as is the rocker and the easy chair and half my swords have been moved all over hell! Now I ask you, especially you guys out therel. IS THIS FRIGGIN FAIR? I sure don't think so! Anyway, moved all her crap and got the cabber cleared so hopefully I can cut some cabs. Now I'm wondering where I can get some "Do not cross barrier" yellow tape so I can rope off a tiny bit of MY room for ME!......Mel

Really good hardware stores carry some of that tape you are looking for, Mel. It can usually be found right next to the bird seed and bouquets of roses. Lady B

I'm with ya on this one Mel! Tain't fair. My man likes to roll his eyes whenever someone brings up rocks and he tells EVERYONE about my BUCKETS of rocks that I have on the back deck. Silly man...none of them are anywhere close to a bucket. We all need our own space. It's just not fair that our spouses decide our stuff ain't as important as their stuff. LAY DOWN THE LAW BROTHER! ask if you can have a corner somewhere...

I'll third this as well. A hobby room should stay a hobby room, no matter the season.

Forget the yellow tape Mel, I'd go for an electric fence!

Ah ha! One of the advantages of being single and head of household! I can put rocks and stuff anywhere I darn well please! ...now in reverse psychology, 10 to 1 you felt just a wee bit better about your situation and came up with a few reasons why life as part of a married rockhound was much better than the alternative. You're welcome.

You think you have it bad Mel, just be thankful your wife doesn't like rocks too................ Thats when things can really get out of hand. You can find a rock in every box, bucket, bag cup, can, cupboard, drawer, pouch, table and or counter top in our house, and thats just the inside.......I won't even start talking about the outside of the house. I was really hoping all of the rth-ers that came here before the burro creek trip would help us out by at LEAST filling a bucket, I don't think any of them took anything............Sure doesn't look like they did anyway.

Well Mel- Unless your wife is Naked all the time- brings you a beer at the snap of your fingers- ALways has a hot meal ready when YOU want to eat- and Never ever changes the TV channel- I think I'd dump her!!!! Just kidding- Sounds like you might want to GENTLY reminder her that the cabbing season is upon you- and perhaps you could help her find a new home for the Raptor center- if that fails- well better start on the next addition- "Mels Hobby Room part II"

Oh Mel, I hope she doesn't read this page.
I have the whole basement. I make everyone take their shoes off before they come down and there are sharp rock shards everywhere. I never get invaded or interrupted!
Yeah Right!!
