Well, our new kitchen is just about finished. The counters and the floor were installed this past week and now there's just some window trim and painting left to do, oh, and install the appliances. Here's a sneak peek of how the new kitchen looks. Here's a shot I took standing in the same place of what the kitchen used to look like. Just a slight difference, wouldn't you say? When I get it all finished I'll post more pics.

Wow, Ed, it's beautiful! Looking at their shine, I suppose you polished all those granite slabs, didn't you?

Thanks, it has been a labor of love(and need). We tore out the old cabinets before we moved in back in July! When it's all finished and trimmed out, I'll take more and better photos, including closeups. Oh, by the way Joe, I've already taken a small piece of the scrap granite and started cabbing it!

Absolutely stunning. I love the warmer darker wood tones you all chose.
We redid our kitchen 3 years ago. Took 3 months. I couldn't wait to get my hands back to cooking after all the eating out we had to do. How have you 2 been handling it?

Stoner,
Nice looking Kitchen - great before and after pic.
Looks like theres plenty of storage now compared to your old layout. (And thats just the "practical" view)
Lovely job. Mark.

Liz, we've been inviting Marie over for dinner quite a bit, you know, Marie Calendar. Between her and Mr Bertolli, we've been managing!(We hooked up our microwave). We've almost doubled our cabinet space and mor than doubled the counter space. My daughter, who works for a tile place, suggested the color of the granite and the tile, and it all goes really well together with the cabinets.

Wow Ed that is nice. You have a ton of cabinet space there. I think our kitchen is about twice that size but we probably have less storage than you. My wife says we need more storage but I tell her no. She will just fill it up with more gadgets that she will never use. LOL I like the warm tones too, much cozier. One question though, do you plan on eating standing up. LOL ;D
