Beautiful birds and amazingly unruffled looking after the ride on the Harley. Play this video for them every day. Once they see what their cousin, a Cockatoo, can do, they should get right into the swing of things. The bird down in the left hand corner of the video sure is. www.birdloversonly.blogspot.com/2007/09/may-i-have-this-dance.htmlYou didn't mention...are they both boys or a mating pair or both girls? You should have great fun with them for many years to come. Enjoy them and when they won't shut up, remember you are the one who invited them into your home. No blaming Takila for this one. ;D Lady B

Those are nice - I heard they live to 80 years old is that true? They sure are cute - what're they're names? Now you'll have to watch what you say around them, don't they copy language?

I saw some Cockatiels on there and emailed a few of them. So now you are emailing Cockatiels? Baz thinks you are crazy too.

Dang, you people do have a good memory. I still have all the cuckoo clocks, still looking for more. I also still have all the wood faces. The wood spirits collection is getting bigger all the time. At last count I have bought over 27 of them. I have given a few away as gifts and sold 3 to pete for his store. I think I have 20 hanging in our house, but thats another post.

I had a cockateil that looked just like them. His name was Nikki Bird. He could talk and dance and loved to be on my shoulder , outside or in. Just keep the wings clipped!! My son and Nikki Bird got very attached. Nikki would scream for him and I mean scream!! If Travis was at school, that bird would make me crazy! His shrills would flat hurt your ears!! Cockateils are cool birds and thet learn very fast. You can buy a tape or cd for them, play it over and over, preferably when your not home, and soon they will repeat it. Nikki Bird was the coolest. We had him for about 10 years, then one morning when I un-covered his cage, he was on the bottom. Gone to birdy heaven. I still miss him.

Nice looking birds- and Cage- Just a couple of observations (from a guy who worked with birds for 8 years) Birds will bond with humans pretty easily- but perfer other birds- so don't be surprised if the 2 together never really come around- also it is easier to train them to talk when it's just one on one- Sunflower seeds are BAD BAD BAD- only use them as a treat- I used to feed my bird from my dinner plate (probably why my wife did a happy dance when my bird died)- but avoid chocolate, alcohol, overly sweet treats. Talk to you birds daily and only work one or 2 words at a time- Keep em out of drafts- and on warmer days fill a spray bottle with HOT water and spray em down (use hot water because water cools very rapidly when it is sprayed into the air- Try it!) Most of all KEEP THOSE Flight Feathers TRIMMED!- It is a procedure that can save your birds life, is easy to do (if your uncomfortable with it then take them to the vet a couple of times to get a feel for it) and alows your training sessions to be more productive (they can't fly away)
