This morning was a bit cold and brisk (low 30's). My son and wife went to a movie, so my daughter and I went to the wharf and took a walk. While a bit cold (for California), it was a sunny day. Hope you enjoy the pics. Sea lions taking a snooze. They were packed like sardines! Another pic of sea lions snoozing in the water A closeup of the sea lions napping. A pelican begging for lunch Lighthouse point, a locally famous surfing spot A sailboat with the local amusement park in the background Harbor lighthouse

Those are great pictures. Not only are they cute & interesting, but so sharp & clear. What kind of camera are you using? Just once in awhile I miss California when I see pictures like this...Patti

Great photos! What are the sardines, I mean Sealions sleeping on? That is way cool. We only have pelicans in Florida. Gotta go to Sea World to see Sea Lions. Thanks for the great pics! T

Patti, I use a Sony DSC-H3. I love it, it has a 12X optical zoom and 2x digital zoom. It takes great closeups for cabs and has the zoom capability to take close ups of far shots. I got it in a close out, Sony came out with the next generation, the DSC-H5
BAZ, the picture was taken at and from the wharf in Santa Cruz, the Boardwalk is the amusement park in the background of the sailboat picture.
Reb, Normally the platform is used so boaters can dock to the pier. In the summer time, you can walk down to the platform and see the sea lions sitting and sleeping on the struts underneath the wharf. This time of the year, they close the stairs because they don't won't anyone to be washed off the platform due to a big wave.
